I am pleased for them on a personal level and will be even more pleased if this would mean that GB would relinguish any idea of becoming PM.

I think this is fabs news - especially as she is an older mum.

oh good. hope she has it in london rather than hiking up to the wilds of scotland at the last minute to make a point (which can't have helped things for the first one, sadly)

How lovely.

PPH > since her firstborn had a grave congenital problem that no amount of care would have reversed, Scotland can't be blamed for that!

Better her than me!

I'll always remember GB's face after Jennifer Jane was born, he was SO proud of his daughter.

Wouldn't exactly call Kirkcaldy (where baby Jennifer was born) the 'wilds' of Scotland.
Also, from what I've heard on mumsnet, maternity care in London is always the greatest.

Just thinking, at 42, my kids will be 10 and 8. Hmm, perhaps dh and I might even be able to do a weekend away whilst the grandparents babysit.

Ah, bliss! MUCH looking forward to the 40s.

I don't blame scotland, I blame running off to the middle of nowhere for political reasons and making the complex decisions to caesar early in a hospital with no neo natal facilities.

she didn't have a congenital problem, she was failing to grow in the womb (according to the cottage hospital in the middle of nowhere - so who really knows) so they caesared her 7 weeks early there despite not having adequate facilities. then ambulanced the 2lb baby 2 hrs away to a decent hospital.

can't help thinking that if they had stayed put in london (or even edinburgh or aberdeen or wherever) and got proper advice somewhere that could properly cope with the situation it wouldn't have happened. but that is politics for you.

That is such bollocks PPH. The baby would have failed to thrive in the womb whatever she did or whoever saw her. It was a congenital problem. But if it suits your politics to take that view...

lovely news. Hope it's a girl this time for obvious reasons....btw pph are you really saying the death of that tiny baby girl was because of politics ????? wonder what the Browns would say to that idea...
