Having said I like him, I wouldn't want him to be running the country. As sad as it is, because I do like him, perhaps too many other feel the same and therefore it might be good for the party.

I'd stand down if I were him, the job is obviously stressful and he's got a difficult road ahead if he truly intends to give up alcohol - and have time for his new family.

It's interesting though as a lot of people now assume he has a weakness of character, but if he managed to become leader of his party while he was an active alcoholic, imagine what he could do if he wasn't bogged down by the effects of drinking too much!! I suspect though, we won't get the opportunity to find out.
