I am so upset about this!

I also grew up with the 2 Ronnies! and Ronnie Barker always reminded me of my dad (dont really know why!?)

Yeah my fave too has to be the fork handles sketch! So funny!

We have lost a true legend!

My brother and I used to fall about laughing with the Phantom Raspberry blower.

This is such sad news .

Me too. They don't make them like that any more do they? Good clean family humour.

Another for the fork handles sketch, and the hyroglithics one (however you spell it!)

Exactly Mama! Just goes to show - it doesnt have to be rude to be funny!

The 2 Ronnies always make me think of christmas - was a bit of a tradition to watch them over christmas - just like Morcambe and Wise R.I.P.

I wonder what our kids will remember from the TV at christmas?!

there was a great 'two ronnies' sketch on the radio this morning.....

Ronnie Barker (in mock Red Indian accent): "How! I am Hiawatha and he (Ronnie Corbett) is Lower Watha." Made me laugh all the way into work.

How sad. I saw him on one of those award programmes recently - they gave him a Lifetime Achievement one iirc - and he did look very old and frail

Jenum71 · 04/10/2005 13:16

yeah I thought that too Marthamoo - bless him.

I am glad he did that last 2 Ronnies series though.

H was a very, very funny man, and I think funniest when he was at his darkest (or perhaps that's just my dark sense of humour). Am than people think the Two Ronnies was clean though, I think you may have missed quite a few of the jokes, they had more double entendres than Julian Clary.

Report
Jenum71 · 04/10/2005 14:31

They may have had a few double entendres but they were put across in a funny way without being crude or anything like that!

I know there were a lot of innuendos but I guess only rude if you had a dirty mind

Tbh I probably did miss most of their jokes being a young innocent little girl! Not so now!

Oh my goodness I knew I recognised aunt mabel in come outside from somewhere, and that's it, she was nurse Gladys!!!
