I just heard an interesting discussion on today's You & Yours on Radio 4, including opinions on Gina Ford You can probably go to the BBC website and find it on Listen Again if you're interested.

Just heard most of it. Missed the Gina bit but heard Steve Biddulph et al.

I thought it was interesting that Steve Biddulph was berating authors of parenting books who are "in it for the money." He must be able to retire several times over on the proceeds of his own book sales. Haing said that, I do like his books.

SB started off by saying that he was working with families in some tiny town in Tasmania and wrote for them. He said he was "amazed" that his writings and ideas had been taken up by "middle class England". DIdn't hear anything about him donating the proceeds to charideee though

Er, why else would you write a parenting handbook, other than for the money?
