Morning. We've been up since 4. I haven't done much mind. Hard to get motivated after that early a start. Today's playgroup day and I'm now running really late. Ds2 is feeding again now which messes up my getting dressed.
Routines and small babies?????
Sun is out here too. I think I may need to swap ds1's jeans for shorts?

littleboyblue Enjoy the sun and relax. You need to treat yourself so you don't end up grumpy at the end of the day.

LBB 4am - that is bad, poor you. DS is waking around 5.30 for the day, then not crying, but shouting REALLY loudly until we get him up. It's quite cute, as he's so happy first thing, but also infuriating. Your post yesterday about the clock made me LOL - I don't know why, it just conjured up such a funny picture in my head!

Today DH and I are off to look at a show home thingy in Kent. We are supposedly having our loft converted (cost permitting), and this should give us some ideas. Fun day out for DS!

Need to crack on with my morning routine. Girls have just been packed off for the day. BBL.

Morning

Star We dont mind who starts the thread. I think most of us are super busy in the mornings and only just manage to get on before the school run.

Coco Enjoy looking at the house. We lived in the loft in our last house - what I mean is our bedroom and ensuit was up there. It was lovley, only isse was it got far too hot sometimes and if we had stayed down south we were looking in to air conditioning. It waqs such a peaceful haven away from everything

Bianca and LLB it has been raining all night here, the grass is soaked, the water butt is full and I had to dry the line before hanging my bedding on it. Hope the sun stays

Waves to everyone else yet to come or who I have missed

I have:

Washer on
Hung bedding out
DS1 to Preschool
DS2 refused breakfast, so trying to get a bannana in him.
Made my bed

To Do
Lunch
Dinner
Change the boys beds, although may leave this till the weekend, as DS2 wants a big boys bed, which will mean splitting DS1's bunks
More in my bedroom

at all the early starts

Morning

Got to work with the girls today (maths ugh) and have a quick tidy round. dd1's friend is coming later to stay for the weekend.

dd2 is in dance shows all weekend - 3 shows on Saturday and 3 on Sunday so no doubt will be busy with that. Just discovered she needs to have red ribbon for her hair for the outfit so am going to have to go into town to get her some which is a complete pain.

At some point need to do some office work and sort out the laundry cupboard so can fit dh's boxes of envelopes in

Hope you all have a lovely day.

Routines done by 10.00 that's a first!
Although I did clean the bath too.
I think it's chicken and egg isn't it, because the dirtier your house the longer the routines take, because you get distracted by the revolting things you find (like old saucepans in the garden, orange peel in the bedrooms, piles of laundry, then your routine becomes less of a routine and more of a deep clean and then you think, this is all TAKING TOO LONG.

Anyway, all newbies, I think the answer is to do the routines incredibly fast and badly with your eyes closed. Just to keep the habit going.

Sitting in my medium to low- sparkling kitchen now with a cup of coffee.

Today's extras.
sweep stairs to loft (still no carpet after 4 years, waiting for rest of house carpet to wear out not long now
email my mum some relatives' addresses
think about halfterm and plan meals
cut and strim lawn
re-organize a flowerbed
Sort out paperwork to check any unpaid bills and unnoted dates, appointments
a bit of ironing
5 more mins on spare room
hoover dd's room

What's for dinner - mushroom risotto for dh
kids - ditto without mushrooms and raw veg on side.

First I think the e-mails

Everyone seems to be getting on well

I am wading through the business's filing. Have been at it for an hour and a half and am only half way through

My worst, worst job. Hate it. Moan, moan, whine, sob.

AND I don't even get paid for it

Having a cup of tea then better get back to it...

Coco I'll be walking around with the kitchen clock attatched to my wrist soon!
Dil I'm on day 3 too. Let's just do what we've already done. By far my favourite day yet!

I think I'm going to make the morning routine a bit easier by doing a touch more in the evening, not too much though.
Today I have, sterilised bottles, washed up breakfast stuff, showered, cleaned bathroom sink and toilet (I do the bath before I put ds1 in it in the evenings, unless he is filthy, then I do it after), checked E-mails, sorted washing into ironing pile and non-ironing, been to playgroup, had lunch and going to another group in a bit.
Later I plan to do the ironing, and cook dinner. I am going to do lamb chops with roast dinner sides and hope ds1 eats it. He's not had chops before and I don't know if they'll be a bit too chewy? Maybe I should have some fish fingers ready too just in case? But he will eat the veg and the potatoes, yorkshires, stuffing, parsnips, so might be ok.

I think the secret for fellow newbies is just don't get carried away. I also think this is helping me think more about what I do and how to plan better and time manage iyswim.
For the past 3 days, I haven't walked anywhere empty handed. Everywhere I go in the flat I can put something back on my way.

Hi girls.

Mad - pesky kids eh?

LBL - I think your doing an increadible amount considering how old your dc are! Remember flylady is designed for retired ladies really. You have to adapt it (or is that me ).

Today:
Off to school for a victorian picnic (with ds in his 'victorian' Dr Who PJs ).

Tomorrow we're off to Dent camping for a couple of days (!) so mamoth packing session tonight (now where is that tent ).

BB next week. Hope you all have a good BH weekend.

Report
swanriver · 22/05/2009 13:18

Lol Scatty.
Everything my children know about the Victorians IS from Dr Who.
Are you doing naturel camping or comfortable camping?
Dh persists in belief that all one needs is a bivvy bag and a knife.

Swan Comfy camping is the only way to do it. We cought a carpet and kids room for our tent in the sale I make sure we have plenty to drink and eat and then aslong as I am warm - who cares

I am a little calmer now

Still need to do the ironing, but have cleared the devastion and feed them both.

Afternoon all
mad poor you....hope things are now a bit clamer.I'm also a "comfy" camper...love the sound of your carpet! Ds on the other loves roughing it...he's off on "survival camp" with the scouts this wk/end...they dont even get a tent LOL

LBB 4.00 am poor you. and I thought me 5 am was bad!

dylsmum yay for end of exms!

gib hope you're winnning the filing battle!

starbear Dill* sounds like you're doing well.

everyone-else Hi!

Not too bad so far today...
ended up late to bed again last night....there just aren't enough hours in the day LOLThen DS2 reverted to his 5am wake up time ( after a few lovely days of 6.30 -7.00)So am really pretty exhausted.
DD4 is also being quite difficult today...needing 110 % of my attention, acting up if she doesnt get it, testing boundries....and her new favourite word is "stupid" since I told her not to call her sister stupid! So then everything was "stupid" ( stupid toy, stupid book, stupid sock, stupid toast etc....) followed by her dancing round the room singing "mommy is stupid, mommy is stupid"...anyway, deap breaths....she is now safely delivered to nursery for next 2 hours...yay!
Have done some bits this morning...not really much though...lots still to do but am seriously lacking in energy and motivation....so MNing and drinking tea instead
Horrible grey rainy day again here too....soooo need some sun.....

HMm Ds now whinging...(meant to be napping) he is full of cold too so very sad...better go
BBl
