Our French windows runner is 164cm width.

The length is 225cm.

What size curtains do I need to buy?

PLEASE.

I hate curtains and think my Mum did me no favours in not teaching me how to measure curtains.

225cm is a fairly standard length I think. I can't help you on the width as that confuses me too! I never know if the width is per curtain, gathered, ungathered etc.

This is the 2nd curtain measuring thread I have answered in a couple of weeks.... need to get out more....

BUT,

The general rule is that you have the curtains whatever length you want.

The Width, to get a good look when they are closed, should be at least 2 x the width of the window (or space the curtain will cover when closed). So, as curtains are normally sold in pairs, you need a pair that is EACH at least the width of the window.

Unless you have them specially made, you will find they are in standard sizes. So you need to look on the pack for curtains that are at least as wide and long as you need.

The pack will say 'pair of curtains 999cm length (or 'drop') X 999cm wide'. This refers to each of the curtains, ie both will be the size on the pack.

So you will need curtains min size 1164 x 225cm. If they are longer than you need you can shorten them.

I've a horrible feeling I'll xpost with you and you'll be sorted.
