Cleaning toddler clothes

My dd is 16 months old and i am struggling to keep her clothes looking half decent. I try not to buy pale coloured clothes because they seem to become stained very easily. For example, white long sleeved vests, The neck and cuffs are a grimy grey/brown colour that i cannot get out. I do a dd wash about once a week (rather than mixing up all of our clothes) and anything that has had something spilt on it gets put onto soak in vanish first. I use non-bio powder, comfort softner and vanish in all the washes and machine on 40 degrees. What am i doing wrong?

White long sleeved vests need a good soak in Napisan. And I wouldn't leave them for the week, why not just put her clothes in with yours and use non bio for everyone ?

I put Napisan in with all the white washes to bring stuff up really nicely, and a good go in the sun does wonders too

Yes, Napisan is good, but don't accidentally put it in coloureds! I've done that and ruined the clothes! it made the darker colours run.

why are you using non-bio powder? non bio doesnt get anything clean in my experience. if you are willing to use napisan then just use bio and stuff wil actually come up clean!!

I wondered that too, especially if you are adding vanish to the wash anyway. I don't use non bio and add a scoop of stain remover to every load of lights/whites etc.

I have a 13 month old and do a number of his washes a day. He has very few white/pale clothes as I prefer colourful outfits, however, the whites are not a problem (non-bio and a dab of Miltons where needed). If I can not get a stain out then the item does not get worn (except bibs).

Where do i get napisan from? Will the supermarket sell it or boots? We use non bio because both my dd and i have sensitive skin

Yes, either of those. I get mine from Tesco.

Leaving clothes with stains in for a week is the problem. Stained clothes need to be put in a bucket of hot water and detergent to soak until they are washed.

Ariel and a scoop of Vanish stain remover work wonders. And you can wash most clothes at 60° which also help remove stains.

It's usually in the aisle with the baby stuff I think.

Bio-tex stain remover and pre-washer is also good
