This is a question that always stumps DH and me.

Any help out there?

On the dressing table chair, so that I might actually remember to wear them the next day. Unless it's a giant cardigan or sweater, and I haven't actually worn it the nesxt day, it then goes in the wash. If it is a giant cardi, it stays on and off the dressing table chair for weeks.

Turned inside out,on a hanger in the spare room,or hanging on the back of the bedroom door, I have one of those multi-hanger,plastic type things that hang on the door

i just wash them, i seem to do so much washing that a few extra things dont make any differance!

Back in the drawer/wardrobe. My DH is clearly also stumped by the question snowlight...as he leaves them in a heap on a wooden chest

Back in the wardrobe/drawers - otherwise don't you just get a great big pile of clothes over the chair etc....unless you wear the same thing every day?!

DH leaves his over a chair, but then there are so many clothes on there that they all get crinkled and need ironed

If they are not dirty why not put them back in the drawer/ wardrobe? If they are clean enough to wear again then it shouldn't be an issue.

Hmmm, I'll have to think about that one. Even though not dirty, I don't really see them as clean.

I'll suggest it to DH and see what he says.

They usually end up in a heap on the floor, but I'm fed up with it.

Back in the wardrobe, normally at one side. I often don't wesr the same clothes the next day so wouldn't want them lying round my bedroom on chairs, etc.

I would never think of washing things after just one wear (bar underwear that is) ubles actually dirty. Seems a terrible waste of energy, plus a waste of detergents - oh, and my time in washing, drying and ironing! And I do think that too frequent washing spoils the look of clothes and they don't last as long/

nancy75 - ever considered that might be the actual reason why you do have so much washing to do?

Report

tend to get thrown placed in a pile on the floor as I refuse to have a chair in our bedroom as I always say that it just becomes a mountain of clothes. I must admit that I tend to wear the same clothes for a couple of days and then wash them though. I am not the most tidy of people.

I've got a rail on the inside of my wardrobe door that jeans and things go on if they're ok to be worn again

Back in the wardrobe/drawer for me too.......... never really thought about it. Now questioning my own cleanliness.....
Happy to wear jeans two days running

Folded neatly and strategically, put on chest, then washed if not worn after several days...(especially boys' trousers - perfect for another muddy outing but not quite clean enough for drawer)
I think slightly worn clothes attract moth to cupboards and drawers so it's not worth putting them back unless you have a very fast turnover. Especially jumpers.
current nighties, pjs under pillow of bed.

In my case in an unruly heap that threatens to take over the bedroom. In dh's case it's a little pile of neatly folded clothes by his side of the bed. The dd's each have one side of a rotating Ikea cupboard, with hooks and a bar. We call them the clothes that are 'on the go', rather than 'clean' or 'laundry'.

On the floor.

Then I kick them into the corner next to the washbasket and after a week, end up washing them anyway. That way DH puts them away after he's finished the ironing. Sorted

what a strange question.

Report
squeaver · 11/03/2009 17:34

I mean, why on earth wouldn't you put them back in the wardrobe/drawer? They're not going to infect your other clothes with their not-quite-dirtiness, you know.

It's funny how people have such different views on this. It's not something I'd every questionned
