Boring - A combination carpet cleaner and vacuum or two different machines

I know it is nearly wine o'clock and I am just about boring myself, but in TJ Hughes they had vax and bissel carpet cleaning machines quite cheap, or I can get the vax thing that does both in B&Q for 150. I need a new hoover either way, and a carpet cleaner.

Would seperate machines each be better at the job they do? Is it more convenient to have one?
