If it has been washed and ironed in a household that smokes indoors or even outdoors then the item will smell of smoke.

My dd comes home from her fathers reaking that you would think she has been smoking and yet she will have clean clothes on. If I go to my mates house (she smokes only outside) I come aways and can smell the smoke on my clothes. It clings to my mates clothes and transpheres to the furniture and then I sit on the sofa and it makes my clothes smell.

If you smoke though you don't realise that everything is tinged with the smell - as you can't smell it.

I bet you don't get many responses with people admitting they smoke in the house.
