mad thanks for thread
dyls really hope things improve. I hate it when I've already had enough and it's not even 9.00 LOL
tort Hi! (didn't get chance to say yesterday!) Glad youre on the mend. Do remember to take it easy though!

I'm totally exhausted this morning! Despite reasonable nights sleep - went to bed at 9.30 and no one woke till 5am so not bad really! Think my previous nights of sleep deprivation are catching up though!
House not looking the best due to lots of DC at home lots this week, lots of frolickiing in the snow, and not so much flying!
Still I'm only doing minimum today - plan to put DVD on for DD4 and snuggle with her on sofa under the quilt!Have decided I'll get back on top of things on Monday - may be a slightly extended home blessing hour (all day maybe lOL)

So my minimal to do list:
Quick general tidy round
Washing (really cant get behind with that as I never recover!)
Sort some tea for me and DH ( quick tea for kids as it's Friday YAY)
S&S bathrooms - seemed to forget them this morning
Snuggle on Sofa lots with DD4 whilst DS naps

Right will just finish cuppa then get on !

TMH thanks for thread, hope no damage done.
dylsmum hope your day improves.
Tort enjoy the snow but remember to TAKE IT EASY
galen enjoy your minimal flying day.

Had a reasonable nights sleep, dd didn't wake up until 7:30 and ds 8:00. It's weird the morning runs so much smoother when we don't get up until 7:30, I think because I don't sit on the computer and lose track of time!

Ds is full of cold again so staying in today. I also have loads of hotspots to extinguish.

Cuppa nearly finished so had better get moving. Tv turned off so ds will actualy amuse himself quite happily. Mountain of paperwork here I come.
Have a good day everyone

I have done a small tidy/clean up in the kitchen. Kids did a little tidy up in the front room. They keep arguing over everything.

Mostly rain and sleet now with the odd flake of snow. Everything is going slushy.

Report
swanriver · 06/02/2009 10:48

Dylsmum. We have had a similar start to day as well.
ds1 refused to go to school thinking he would have it off due to snow, but snow is only slush sooo...anyway got him to school 10 mins late. Determined emotion.
dcs went early and did lovely assemby at school about Light and managed to bring Florence Nightingale, electrical circuits AND religion in Ds2 looked at bit like Rowan Atkinson in his new haircut making strange faces at me!

NOW I need to do
EVERYTHING
a small part of which is tidying dd's room

Galen, I am glad you are going to snuggle today. Hope the los are not wriggly!

I also need to think about dts party (ies)in March. Looking at cake pics this morning with them, very calming, I reccommend it.

Usually do home parties, but it IS a labour of love. They are undecided. Any thoughts on successful home parties? We do things like pass the p, treasure hunts, musical statues but it is a bit of riot.

Hello all
Just a few minutes on here, have just read yesterday's thread. I was ill yesterday, bad stomach ache and flu symptoms. I thought of you all and what you would say and had an easy day. I laid on the sofa a lot and let the dc play around me - they did so really nicely. when they got crotchety around 4pm I put cbeebies on! We got along very well! Feeling a bit better today. I think it's just all the trauma with dd's broken finger etc getting to me, and broken nights, she is still waking up every couple of hours, often when she bangs her hand when she turns over
Sorry can't say hi to everyone personally
swan I did a craft party this year for my ds's party, 26 children in our house! It was brilliant because we had a real focus to the party and all the children loved it, even the siblings who were older i.e. 6 or 7 like yours. I love home parties but they are a lot of work, aren't the?

Btw I love the idea of a £ in a pot for treats. I agree with whoever yesterday said magazines are daylight robbery - I tend to only buy one or two a month of the food or home variety. I get books from the library or charity shop generally but when I was more affluent (i.e. no children!) i used to spend loads of money on bookss. I must admit it is preferable to be able to choose from all the books in the shop rather than just the limited selection arranged alphabetically in our small library, or the ones in the charity shop, which are often all 'rubbish' (Sorry I am a book snob!)

Galen don't suppose you've had time but how's the Enchanted April book?

Later all

tort glad your healing well, take it easy though
greyskull thats a very good point i like bedtome
things have improved a little after i strop from ds when i said we were walking to school. thought some fresh air might help, it did he was soon chatting nicely along the way and seemed happier once he got there. and dd has cheered up i took her for a Babychino in her fav cafe and did some shopping. she has now fallen asleep so we may have to miss her dinky dancers this week as it starts at 1.
i think they both have colds coming, dd is coughing a lot in her sleep, she is in buggy at mo so i just laid it back a littlle not all the way flat to try and ease it for her.

wendy hope you feel better soon. I'm reading Enchanted April at the moment, really enjoying it, just keep wandering off wishing i was somewhere like that. hot and pretty right now Love th eidea of a carft party, am trying to decide what to do for dd's birthday in april, we in a small flat so limited to what we can do really. she keeps asking for a pink cinderella party, but not sure whether of not i should do it cos of lack of space in here.

galen enjoy your snuggle.

must stop wasting time and get on as we went shopping i have done absolutely nothing since we left the house, must stop distracting myself, oh tell a lie i made my hair appointment whilst eating cake in the cafe . thats at 4 this afternoon

Afternoon all!

swan sorry bout your bad start. My DS hoped he was getting another day off too!
wendy I have actually finished the book (amazingly for me these days LOL) I really enjoyed it actually , wasn't that sure when I got it but I thought it was very good.

Well spurred on by large cup of coffee I seem to have done more than I planned this AM!
DS didn't nap so lots of rolling round on the floor with him (his favourite game at the mo LOL) and DD4
Then in a sudden wave of enthusiasm have done:

Tidy all round
Dust and hoover upstairs
Upstairs bathroom clean (including washing floor)
Kitchen tidy and wipe surfaces
Downstairs floors swept AND mopped
Chucked old flowers from lounge
WM on TD on
Lunch done and cleared
DW loaded
So feeling quite pleased now. House restored to some sort of order for wk/end!

Have put Curious George DVD on for DD (her absolute favourite and the only thing she'll watch for than 5 mins at a time!) and now going to snuggle with her!
Then need to think of something exciting to do with chicken breasts for tea for DH and me tonight....

dyls I have too many days where I start counting the hours to bed time shortly after breakfast

Galen we love curious George in the greyskull house. I should buy a DVD because it is the only reason we watch CITV and I hate the nagging during advert breaks

TMH sounds like you have had a good day so far

Ruby - hope DD feels better and you both enjoy some snuggle time

Wendy - hope you manage to get some good rest tonight, it is hard to shake off illness when you are exhausted. - How is DD's finger healing?

Swan - sounds like a great assembly - I think I would be blubbing with pride

Lots more snow here going between fine sleet and heavy snow think I will walk to get DS1 from school this afternoon - don't want to drive looks too slippy.

Also I have never done a party at home (nor do I plan to ), partly space but mainly fear. I have huge respect for those who do it.

Curious George? must look that one out.

Right ironing....

Swan - I am doing a party at home for DD (5). A princess party where they decorate crowns (stick on jewels etc - no glue) and then traditional party games like PtP etc and then food.

Thanks party advisors. still having ideas - maybe can get away with one softplay party and one home party...our garden's not big enough for bouncy castle & a bit muddy in Mrch. Dd always invites very boisterous little boys to hers, I wish they were content to be princesses. Ds2 easier because he invtes beta males who like clues etc, hunt the thimble.

DONE
all kitchen tidying, bins, sweeping
milk bottles out
sight test appts
supper - rice dish

Now I'm going to read my book for two hours.

done
bed made
kitchen and living room quick tidy
burnt sauce chizzled out of pan
kitchen surfaces, hob and sink cleaned
dishcloth put into milton
bathroom s&s
ds taken to nursery
quick check on bank account [urgh]

does anyone know a good place to sell some books. I used to take them to a nice bookshop in pickering but I would think in the current climate they would not be buying so many

Magazines-I used to love Gardener's World.

Wolf, my husband is a bookseller! But not the sort of books you and I read. Can't give any advice on selling, he always tells me I show no interest in his work!
