What's the best way to treat a mouldy wall?

We've got a mould/damp problem along one wall of the house. Any tips for treating so it doesn't come back as quickly.

My advice would be to get to the source of damp, rather than just treat the end result.

But, if this not possible go to a large DIY store and get some advice/special anti mould paint.

I think that Marmaduke has given the perfect answer!

I agree. You can spray diluted bleach on the black specks, but they will keep coming back unless you discover why the damp comes in.

Thank you.

(Although I notice I missed a comma )

Unfortunately it's not our house (Navy). They're sending a surveyor out sometime this millenium soon.

It could be somthing as simple as a blocked gutter overflowing down the wall If it is an external wall, or a blocked air brick or a pile of earth breaching the damp course.

I wouldn't wast efforts cosmetically enhancing the interior wall without having a cursory check as to what may be causing it, Navy house or not.

I use Dettol mould remover.Spray it and then leave it for a few minutes then wipe it.

I have same issue. keep the window open on security crack setting if you have one. It's our bedroom and we have actually moved out it was so bad and into dd's bedroom. now we have moved out, heating off, window open it has gone.
Would try the mould and mildew spray but it does just come back in my experience. You can buy special stuff at B and Q or equivalent which has fungicides in it.
