Thanks for the mission & the music mad - showing my age here but I loved that song: it was one of the first records I bought

Doing my best to squeeze a bit of flying in amongst lots of office work today.

Wolf - I cannot say how impressed I am at your menus: when can I come to tea?

I like Mondays! In fact since SAHMtherhd they have much improved.

This morning I have
Whisked everyone to school with new waterbottles, absence notes, finished hwk,
hairclips and straightened ties
Lost reward chart despite having many gold stars to put on it.
Swept front path and mulched something
Shaken out doormat

Now
Everything is rather a mess but feel ready to zap.
Off out at 10.00 am.

Bella, I thought you were 29? That was one of first records I bought too. Was it re-released?

Report

I am 29, swan - in my head at least

Strangely, though, I have memories of buying 'Message in a Bottle' on lurid green vinyl too

I still have them, and they are in a pile in living room..waiting to be decluttered.. today! But I think they are now REPRIEVED. Saved by a thread.

Morning all

mad thanks for thread, and painting wow. My whole house so badly needs painting... hall way is covered with grimy hand prints!
greyskull sounds a fabby wk/end
wolf seriously impressive menu plan - you've inspired me to come up with a fortnightly one and try to do big shop fortnightly..... mind you have trouble fitting a weeks worth in an aldi trolley as it is.... that's the trouble with feeding 8 people I spose!

So having 10 mins Mn time... lots to do today, but did have sudden rush of enthusiasm last night...
I have done DS's room - wow and yay! Just need to remake bed - bedding in wash!
Also managed to dust and hoover throughout last night, so less to do for blessing hour...Oh and dealt with the field of mud DS brought back from scout camp ( which he loved as always - the freezing cold and wet and army ration packs were his idea of a great time LOL, sounds odd to me but then he tells me "mummy you have no sense of adventure!")

To do today :
Sweep and mop floors
Prepare stuff for tea ( risoto)
Clean washing away ( quite a lot!)
Wipe down doors (why can't my kids use door handles???)
remake Ds'1s bed
Start on zone clean - (living room really needs doing so glad it's that this week)
Come up with impressive menu plan inspired by wolf!

So we'll see how far I get ... depends on moods of dc but we'll see!

Right break time over.... must get on
Have a god morning all
BBL!

Hello, I am new to flying and have been doing it for about 3 weeks now. It's going quite well and I have already got into routines, so can't be bad. I am a mum of 2, dd [8] and ds [2]. I am sahm and I used to be a teacher. I live in Spain. Just wanted to say hello!

Has anybody got any recipes for chicken breasts? Thanks.

Moved a very large cupboard (had to take out all clothes and drawers) and hoovered dusted behind it. Once a year only I think.

DONE
2 loads of laundry done
kitchen worktops
bins
hall mess
looked at various menuplan threads but felt very worn out at thought of another optimistic list..

Anyway my food is delicious, just have to get the family to eat it!!

Off to work now

Now I know this isn't strictly relevant but the office work is progressing in leaps and bounds and dh has a smile on his face for the first time in ages (never let anyone tell you how great it is to have your own business ) so.....

wendythepositivethinker · 26/01/2009 14:04

Hi all

I am feeling smug having done my living room at the weekend but am catching up on last week with bedrooms.

DC bedroom has been deep cleaned this morning - beds out, furniture out, skirting boards, windows - the lot
This is thanks to dd having a stonking cold and needing to stay at home with her instead of going to Lidl!
Have made a start on our bedroom too but that is A Work In Progress
Have folded paper for kites - I am doing the craft tomorrow at toddlers. Hoping DD is well enough to go, otherwise will have to just drop the stuff in instead.
My mum popped over in the middle of a tantrum from DS. He is 4.3 and never really had tantrums til he hit about 3.5 - well, when he went to nursery really. He has hit, pushed and kicked dd today already. Mum had brought presents for them both (always brings them presents, every single time she sees them - usually every day. ) and I asked her not to give him it as he had been naughty - was that unreasonable? She didn't look too pleased about it as she had already given DD her present. But i just think he shouldn't be having a new toy if he has just hit his sister - tell me I'm right!!!
we have had homemade veg soup for lunch so dc can have a more relaxed sort of tea - probably fruit and toast - think I'll need to feel calm by 5pm! Yoga tonight though [serene smile emoticon]
My menu planning is weekly as is my shopping - I find the opposite if I do monthly, that I overbuy. Weekly I tend to empty the fridge by shopping day. i plan the meals after I've come home and buy what is on special offer, but then I only shop at Lidl and my mum gets me the bits I can't get there when she shops at Sainsbury's.
Hope you all have a good day

Grr, talk about pesky 3/4 yos. DD had huge strop on the way to school - we ended up 10mins late to pick ds up . Looks like I'm going to have to drive to school all the time as DD getting too old for the buggy but too uncooperative to walk (ds was like this all through reception ).
