try a scoop of borax in with your washing powder.
Tesco do it in their natural range for less than £1 and it works wonders on tomato based stains

I was going to suggest borax too, except that I soak the offending item in a bowl of it.

Ds's school mud is immovable without borax!

Bleach - very dilute, and keep an eye on it.

when we get some sun again, place clothes flat in the sun ( I think may work on inside windowsill too). The sun bleaches the stain out - I have found it is the only thing that shifts tomato stains - but it does work!

(Just did this yesterday and the sun was actually quite hazy!)

I do the same as Jazz - it works a treat even on the windowsill inside if the sun is strong enough - in the winter leave it in the early morning sun if possible as it will work quicker.

What fabric etc is it? Sun is best though - even hanging it out in rain helps

cotton,

it is just a little long sleeve t shirt,

i am impressed,

with the huggies wipe, do you just wipe over the stain straight away or before the wash?

and the milton, do you soak it on the area or just rub a little in before the wash?

wipe it on straight away ideally but otherwise give it a good scrub leave it a couple of hours and then on a hot wash

I'm with the borax.

Or a scoop of washing soda crystals.

Dry outside on a sunny day.

i found a pair of shades the other day. can't remember the last time i actually had to carry those around with me in my bag.
