bed settee or day bed

We have a newly refurbished spare room with patio doors to the garden. Seems too nice now to just put a bed in and not use as a sort of conservatory/living space in summer when kids in garden and a sort of play room. Now we would still like it to be a guest room and would like the option of a double. Looked at both bed settees and day beds with trundle thingies and completely indecisive. Help please... or comments

Ikea have a hemnes day bed that can turn into a double.

Could look vaguely sofa-y.

This is more pricey, but again, could be sofa-like

I tried the ikea one in the store recently and thought it was pretty good - love the fact that the storage under the bed is not lost by the double bed function. You basically pull the whole of the bottom bit out, the drawers slide forward and the second bed sort of lifts up a bit to make a double. Drawers still function.

You have to have relatively thin mattresses because when in day bed function they sit one on top of the other. But they were remarkably comfortable, and for a guest or childs bed were perfectly adequate. Am still thinking about it for ds's bedroom. DD has the florence day bed from feather and black but it hasn't been made yet because we're waiting for the spare room to be decorated so that her bed can go in there and she can have the day bed.
