catmandu i had moths in carpet and started using up my insect spray for the garden.
use in the morning and hoover the room spray the carpet and allow to dry with the windows open all day. KEEP CHILDREN OUT FOR THE DAY.
i put the furniture back straight away.
seems to be working here but apply every 6 months at least till they have gone completely.
as for the clothes rescue and wash what you can and chuck the rest.
hope this helps.

A programme on the radio was talking about moths today. They said that moths basically love sweat, skin, dandruff and food (the larvae feed off them), which is why you must wash your clothes before putting them in storage.

A bit gross, I know, but maybe you need to give your carpet a good shampoo, then make sure it is kept as clean as possible e.g. not letting anyone eat food in that room. Worth a try.
