Happy New Year everyone

Computers been messing about since christmas eve. Lost all FLYing routines etc, so need to rewrite them. Will try to incorporate NY resolutions into them.
Promised dc's that when finished sorting comp problems out I will turn it off, so I'd better.
BBL with a list of everything i have done in my New Year positive frame of mind (positive thinking another NYR)
Hope everyone has a good mornings FLYing and socialising.

Morning all

My mum has wound me up by ringing nad asking to talk to DH - she thinks I have her disability badge and am not giving it back or at least I am too mad to remeber I did use it on 23rd to get her shopping, but put it back in her bag - she is in a mood with Bro as she has not seen them since boxing day and yet again is taking it out on me

I am feeling like crap - really sore throat and glands, also aching all over. DH let me have a lie in, but we have so much to do and the boys are at each others throats too. DS2 is still full of cold and DS1 is suffering from lack of sleep.

We need to pop out to the shops and then back for some serious ironing, cleaning and decluttering

Morning all.

Spider thanks for the thread. It snowed here yesterday (but didn't settle) tis v cold!

Morning wolfshanna and sag swan your bedtime shennanigans sounds like mine lol. Managed to get dd to settle herself to sleep last night, but she woke up (in the night) and made a huge fuss, so I had to sit on her (bed) to get her to lie down and go back to sleep (it took ages). Wolf I am working towards the sitting outside the room idea.

Done morning routine (of sorts).

Today:
DCs to aquarium
pack away decs
rearrange rooms to give DCs a play room (and hopefully shift toys out of LR) .

Hello everyone. I need to get sorted. Folks have just left and house is a pit.

Happy New Year to all and welcome to any new people.

Welcome back LoW. I know you from old too but I was another name then

Its stopped snowing now Its a shame because it was settling too.

low I think I remember you too, I was another name then as well. Welcome back

I'm slowly getting through the washing...its a mare, you stop for just one day and then you are overwhelmed by washing again. I am not using the tumble dryer either so trying to find the space to hang it all is difficult!

Ed has survived his cut!

Given Maisie her tablet (quite straightforwards TBH)

Made bed
Hung up wet washing
Put away dry laundry

2 drawers on the huge chest need repairing. Suppose I can get that done tbh

Also to do

Make pizza dough
Make rocky road crunch
Tidy front room

Then...who knows

Oh God...

I know I need this...I'm just so scared!

Okay, okay, my first baby step. I'm going to shine my sink. But do I clear out the washing-up first, or just shine, shine shine?!!

Report
grouchyoscar · 02/01/2009 11:50

Welcome Mre Henry

Do the washing up first them shine away

Hope you enjoy it here

MrsMerryHenry · 02/01/2009 12:14

Thanks, Grouchy! (my fave Sesame St character!). I will clear and shine my sink after lunch today!

Report
Spiderplant · 02/01/2009 12:21

I would do the washing up first...other wise you are shining only to have to mess it back up again. You'll want to make the shinyness last once you've done it
Although on one of the videos of sink shining, they put the dirty pots on the floor to shine the sink!

Well day 2 of babystepping here and going well! I shone my sink yesterday - it looked lovely. Have done it a million times since then as people insist on keeping using it and messing it up grrrr. In fact the sink shinning seemed to lead to a mega 6 hour declutter and thorough clean of the entire kitchen!! It looks lovely now - just need to build my routines to keep it that way. Of course the rest of the house is a tip - why is it when I am cleaning one room my 6 little darlings think it means they can trash every other corner of the house? Still I am not letting myself get overwhelemed. Need to tackle the washing mountain next, then think I'll do the downstairs toilet. Have got most of the decorations down and put away, and furniture back to normal in the lounge... so I'm getting there!
Oh and I'm dressed and wearing shoes LOL Not sure how long the shoes will last though - they are really annoying me - I miss my slippers! Do you really all wear shoes all the time?
Happy new year flying everyone!

grouchyoscar · 02/01/2009 13:29

Well done Gallen you're getting there

Do you really have 6 DCs?!? I am amazed and in admiration of you. I don't do a good job coping with Ed and I only have him.

And him is flatly refusing to get dressed so I better get him going. Remember less screaming and shouting, more assertive negotiation...

Welcome back EHM Galen - Shoes is an ongoing debate. TBH not many of us wear shoes in the house, and even then they are not likely to be lace up.
The idea is sound....you feel more dressed and ready for the world., and there is no excuse not to go out to empty bins/hang washing etc.

I have lovely M&S slippers which have hard soles so I can nip outside without wrecking them, but they are also soft and fluffy

Thanks for this thread.

Hello everyone. Another on Baby-step 2 here! (Hi Galen, Mrs MerryHenry)

Have shined my sink and am dressed to my shoes (do trainers count?) Even considering sewing myself a sort of pinny-apron thing with sleeves as I usually ruin all my clothes with bleach when I clean.

Off to clean out the gp cages now ..rest of house a wreck but at least my sink is clean.

Love the decorations (which cover up the holes in walls) so won't be taking them down until 12th night ...

Onwards and upwards!

Hi all
the Baileys is back in the cupboard until next Christmas

Have done some flying today - but the major breakthrough in the greyskull house was my meeting this morning
I have officially given notice that I will not be running the Messy Play Group from Easter. We have this term to groom one of the other mothers to take a leading role.
It was easier than I thought - and I have also changed the preparation level that we all put in from 5-6 hours each to 1-2 hours so it is certainly more manageable with a young family.

Anyway Dh has kept ontop of the kitchen whilst I was out.
Boys are going to have pizza for tea.

Welcome back to those who have had a christmas break and a Warm welcome to those who are flying for the first time. This is a friendly bunch of ladies - I hope you will have fun!

Well we've had a productive day today .

After the aquarium we put all the toys in the dining room to make a playroom and moved the dining table into the LR. So now we have NO toys in the LR (apart froma stray fairy wand that has drifted in tsk). DC are pleased as punch at their play room . Also dh has put more insulation in the loft, the house feels loads warmer.

Still have thank yous to write.

bailey bet you feel relieved .

I'm going to redo baby steps from Mon (again).
