Everyone has eaten breakfast so off to wash up and shine the sink.
Hello to clemette giddykipper TMH & hippipotame Jas Trinity Flowery great to see us all going back to babysteps together.
Anne glad I'm not the only one who doesn't get clothes out the night before, except dd's school uniform. We all have so few clothes their's not much choice anyway!

Morning all

lesson 5 - write it down bit of an american thing I missed this one out

hoptpots this one is intrinsic in the fly ethos.

what is a hotspot

I have quite a few of these - the area by the front door where I put the post, the kitchen table, the magazines in the downstairs loo

So we should all have shiney sinks, be dressed, read our reminders and be ready to take on the day.

I am busy this morning - as always - we are off to music and movement and then back for lunch and to take DS1 to preschool

Good lord I can't do that write it down thing, that's way too vomit-worthy.

I will do a hotspot later though.

Lavender DH is very welltrained good with clothes, got it spot on today.

Morning all. At work, but all this talk of hotspots reminds me I have to find somewhere for Dh to put all of his "stuff" that is just gathering on the arm of the sofa. May snaffle some box files from work...

Am i the only one that seems to think that if I put my clutter in a box it just disappears?

Report
TheMadHouse · 14/11/2008 11:54

clemette What sort of stuff - Ideally you need a perm solution for it. I gave DH a wicker basket by the door for keys, wallet and phone it works great. I have one too.

LavenderTea Stick with it

bella29 You seem to be doing well and remeber anything is better than nothing

WhereTheWildThingsWere Yum scones

Ruby Boiler could be anything from about £1000 I think?

Waves to everyone else.

How are we doing extingusing our hots spots. They always want to make me say "what is a hotspot not" - "A good spot" in a brucey stylee

morning all,

wow lots of people I don't recognise..
arse about your boiler RR do you have any boiler insurance?

have done morning routine then sat on my arse for far too long.
need to go and buy nice things from the deli to take to book group tonight.
need to go to local health food shop to buy museli ingredients for messy play on monday

have had a great letter from the bank this morning.. they are passing on the full 1.5% intrest rate cut so new mortgage payments are £60 per month less!!!! yippeee

to those who aren't sure about flying - I have been doing it for years.. the main thing I like about it is you just have to jump in and get on with it.. don't think about the fact you haven't done anything for weeks.. just start doing something.. anything is better than nothing, before you know it things become habit.

Morning routine for me is now on auto pilot.

I don't live in a show house and things get messed up but I am not seeking perfection, just dont want to be embarrassed about someone dropping by

TMH, it is newspapers/magazines he is determined he wants to read and bills he needs to sort. To be fair there is no room in the house to put it because the house is full of my own daft stoarge solutions for my/children/house stuff.
A wicker basket that can be pushed under the sofa may be an idea...

Just come back from baby group. DD asleep so just nipping on before I make our lunch.

RR we had a new boiler fitted and 2 radiators and system flushed last week . For everything and fitted it cost just over £2000 .... You have my sympathies. But it is lovely to have a warm house again, and hot water...

Okay

Need to hotspot kitchen and lounge today. Oh I already said that on my list...

Let me enlightened you with my lounge hotspot details...

I have 2 basket though that are currently in the lounge (moved from the kitchen and previously in bathroom.) anyways they get filled with stuff I don't know where else to put and they really bug me so I just keep moving them from place to place depending on what room I am giving a big clean to that day. . They Look appalling in the lounge/bathroom/ and kitchen shelf can't take the weight any more so really need to empty them today. That is my mission. If I can successful rehouse or throw everything from the two baskets and not refill them or rehome the baskets in the bedroom ( which is the potential next home for them) this afternoon I will treat myself to a huge bottle glass of red vino tonight.... and if I can't I will probably drink it anyway...

Any tips about the everfilling/moving baskets scenario most appreciated...

LTxx

Quite agree, it's the panic which comes from not knowing what to do first, because there are so many things to do. And you think, will I ever get out of the house to take the rubbish to the dump, if I start tidying? Don't think, act. Mother of five, not me, said she only does two things to keep on course. Laundry and prepare enormous evening meal in morning. Then once these things are done, she feels calm and able to fit the rest of her chores in, if she does them at all. I find problem is clothes everywhere, waiting to be ironed(?) to be put away to be washed, some not quite dirty enough to wash but too dirty to put back in drawer. 15 mins blitz is a brilliant trick for ditherers, who start reading novels mid tidy. Or magazines which they are about to throwaway. Or cookbooks they are about to cook from.
This morning I have achieved nothing, apart from eat lunch, talk to friend on phone, get dchildren to school in good mood (dcs), put the right things in their bookbags, stop cat putting something revolting on carpet. Drunk several cups of coffee. BUT I'VE CLEARED BREAKFAST TABLE and hung out washing. Now abandoning sink as unshiny, catty kitchen and tidying masterbedroom hotspot. Prepared supper last night. Although dh won't eat chicken casserole. He will have some plain mince.
