Radiator has burst

Bathroom radiator has developed a leak with water bubbling just under the outer layer and finally bursting out of a small hole near the top. dh found a large puddle this morning which has seeped through to downstairs. We turned the valve off but water is still draining into a bowl. Plumber coming later, presumably we'll need a replacement

Hi Lizs. Sorry this has happened. has it caused much ceiling damage?

I have heard good things about heated towel rails, not got one but we do have a few leaky rads, which are all turned off atm!

I hope your plumber is good and turns up!

he's been already and isolated/drained it so at least we can have heat. I think the ceiling will be ok , it seeped rather than flooded iyswim so has just caused some cracks between the panels and has dried out a lot since this morning.

Oh that is good. Did he leave you a brochure or a price for the rails etc?

no he could get a radiator and fix it for a lot less than a towel rail which we'd have to go and choose and need extra fittings and valves for. We still haven't got the replacement taps from his last visit - oops

Lol! Hmm. I suppose it depends on the price then. At least you have your heating on now!

It's freezing here.
