I wouldn''t use bleach.

I would have said something like Oxy Clean- or similar.
One of the ones that isn't as watery.

Will google and get back to you

Saffron is quite dry so on thinking about it I would try hoovering it lightly to suck the pollen out. However on googling I found something saying to remove the pollen with sellotape and then make a thick paste out of washing powder and gently dab it on.

I think bleach should have been the last resort really- I've never been able to get a stain out after using bleach.

Good luck!

Dylon colour stripper will shift it (if it is a natural fibre and not wool)

Or thier pre-dye, which is used for getting colour out of stuff ready for dying.

Put in saucepan with boiling or hot water...immerse section which is stained...watch stain disappear before your eyes.........Just like magic

haven't gone out yet!!!

argggh.

have already used bleach doesn't seem to make any difference. though it's a very gentle bleach.

too late to hoover it - already in water since yesterday.

have used neutral soap - just turns it brown then when I rinse the soap off it's pale yellow again.

Should I try Vanish again? Left it on last night for an hour or so and that didn't make any difference either!!! I think Vanish is the same as Oxy 10?

Can't believe this... it's dd2's new jumper and dd3 had borrowed it from her...so heads are going to roll later if I can't clean it!!!

well fizz, since you mention it...

it's been soaking in bleach (a blue gel bleach) since Friday night til today , the yellow has faded to almost non-existent (though dd2's xray eyes will probably detect it). Believe me, it was a awful LUMINOUS yellow!!!

Not in neat bleach I hasten to add.

Am now rinsing it in cold water and will let you know what happens. It's a mostly cotton jumper so that should help though god knows if it will ever be the same again.

Must confess, it looks like it may be BIGGER now than when it first went into soak.

well the yellow seemed to finally come out

Jumper not as soft as it was but...

Doubt anyone's still interested but just in case any of you can't sleep for wondering what happened to mumonthenet's jumper
