stinky mackerel kitchen - HELP!

I am not normally to be seen around these parts, slattern that I am, but I have had a lunch of mackerel and scrambled egg, and my kitchen now REEKS. I have been out to buy a lemon to heat up on the George Foreman, which is where I heated said mackerel...will this work? I have opened the window (PITA, as have just had the heating on, and it will be going straight out again ). I suspect just squirting some glade isn't going to cut it...can you lovely domestic goddesses help me, please?

If you have some vanilla extract, put a few drops on your grill pan (not sure if it would work if you put it on the GF, but can't see why not) and turn grill on low for a little while. Hopefully the smell of the warm vanilla will mask the mackerel. Another tip is to leave out a dish containing vinegar, but I've never found that too successful.

However, mackerel does hang around, you might just have to put up with it for a bit, or leave the window open!

Rub the lemon on the grillpan and anything else that's had the fishy oil on it.
