My mum has gone away for her 50th birthday, my little brother has managed to get newspaper ink stains on her very expensive, very new cream leather sofa, no chance of turning cushions and we've tried leather cleaner and baby wipes and hot soapy water if I take some hairspray round tomorrow will it work?

PS. my mum is coming back tomorow afternoon!

Does it work on old stains and will it take the colour out?

I used it on my brown leather sofa and it did make the ink less noticable, but it did dull that patch of leather slightly.

I rubbed a tiny bit of vasaline into the leather though after and it did seem to help restore it a bit.

Just try a tiny bit.
