Help me decide whether to go for navy blue walls in my en-suite

It's an old house that has been renovated & painted magnolia throughout. The en-suite is tiny, with a white shower, wc & basin, and there's no window -it's lit by a ceiling spotlight.

I fell in love with some dramatic midnight-blue tiles with little bits of mirror inset, which sparkle under the spotlight (although there's not much floorspace).

So the walls - DH wants to paint them white, to 'make it look bigger', but that's so boring. Better to paint it dark blue & put up some big mirrors?

What do you think?

one wall navy and rest white? my SIL has done this and it looks fab. I do think all navy would make a small ensuite seem really tiny

Def dark blue no amount of paint will make a teensy room bigger and a dramatic effect in a small room can look great.Esp if its a home and not a project

Light colours can make a room seem bigger just as darker colours will close it in unless it's a really big room.

The idea of one wall in blue is a good one. If you did all the walls dark blue, your floor (which sounds lovely!) may not stand out as much, will just blend in to the walls.

And with no window, you don't want to feel like you're washing in a dark cave .

I forgot to mention, there are some white tiles. Anyay, yes, you're right about the floor not standing out. Thanks for these thoughts.
