FIL dropped a cigarette butt on the new cream carpet . Any ideas how I can make it look better? Thanks!

option a) claim on insurance - FIL pays excess
Option b) using a razor shave a bit of carpet fluff from another part of carpet and superglue on the burn hole

on your behalf!

Do you have any leftover pieces of the same carpet? If yes, carefully cut out a section just a bit larger than the burn and replace with a new bit from the leftover (make sure pile lies same way, using double sided sticky tape.

Thanks for the tips. We have some spare carpet so I'll see what I can do with that.

Further to my earlier suggestion, I found the following:

Hope it helps.
