Work as a teacher, Sat down with knees under pupil desk, and Hey Presto, large wad of freshly chewed juicy fruit has attached itself to my trousers.

Never had any success with freezing it off in past, and it has wodged itself in so tightly it is squashed into all the threads.

Help

There is a special "get chewing gum off clothes" liquid that you can buy - honest to God, not making it up! I bought some a few years ago. In same bottle as that "sticky stuff" remover.. Just wish I could remember it?s name.
Will think on it!

If you get the Kleeneze catalogue, they sell a product called sticky stuff remover and this will get it off.

But will it just "set" into the trousers, by the time I have tracked it down?

Am seriously pissed off, do you think nail varnish remover will do anything?

Would ironing it through greaseproof paper do anything useful?

dont iron it, put the trousers in a carrier bag and put them in the freezer overnight, the gum will go hard and you should be able to peel it off - yes i know it sounds nuts!

Definitely the freezer trick

Did exactly the same thing in my new school, on only my second day there! I felt like the new kid! You need to wet the area first and then stick them in the freezer. It works, promise.

Even to get all the bits out that are enmeshed into the fibres. (Enmeshed is the only word to describe it, the 2 things have become one )
