Should i spend £300+ on an Kitchenaid Artisan Mixer?????

I have been thinking about buying the Artisan Mixer in pink for ages.

My husband thinks I am crazy.... mainly because of the huge price tag.

Are they worth it????

yes - a classic - definitely cream or chrome - they also do a blender which is pretty fab (think you might tire of pink and then it is a bit of a waste considering the outlay)go for it !

I make bread with mine every weekend. The dough hook is brilliant.

I agree that something like chrome or gunmetal grey or something might be a bit more durable.

hmm, on Ebay they are very cheap (£137) if imported from US - but can never remember about import duties let alone postage

Think I am definately going for the pink one (as will go with all my kitchen bits), but will have to save a bit more money first.

How much of the price is for the design and how much for the action? At that price I would have assume it is a "keep it on the work surface" type of mixer?

I think it's the design and the quality that you are paying for.

I know that they have really good, long lasting motors. Plus all the top chefs have them. Nigella has the red one.

I have the cream one. It is beautiful. Truly beautiful.
But don't pay £300. I got mine for about £250 in some 2 day spectacular thingy a few years ago.
The sales this summer will be amazing so wait a bit.
