Morning

I'll do lnks ina mo.

I've just signed up on a one day housework busting thread, as I need to get back on track and the dds are both at after school clubs today.

I'l still be on here too

Tortoise - Ring the dentist - youcan't do housework with toothache. It needs sorting!

Bianca - Gentle reminder to try and ring Drs. I did read your posts over the weekend, but didn't reply at the time, and think everything I can think of has already been said now.

Morning ehm and jas !

Minimal flying this week as (whisper) RL has got in the way

Off out this morning (have to drop off a bundle of drycleaning.)

Still doing my weightwatchers (I now fit into all my size 14 trousers where previously they were hidden at the back of the wardrobe !)

Have to have a general clear up but nothing too bad

I'll be back properly next week

Enjoy the good weather !

Morning all,

Have done morning routine and have just done an online grocery order as DH away over the weekend so wont be able to go to supermarket.

DD1 still poxy and we are waiting for the last blisters to scab over. We cant go out in the sun as she is so fair she needs sun cream but I cant get cream on her poxy arms and it is too hot for her to wear long sleeves (she would be naked all the time if she could )

Managed to sort out my wardrobe the other day and now have a pile of clothes for rubbish, clothes to give to charity shop and clothes to sell. Whether I will get around to doing anything with them is another matter.

Anyway, have a good day everyone.

Your thoughts ladies would be much appreciated.

Morning all.
DS2 is home with bad cough. Will have to find something to entertain her so i can tidy!
Lovely and warm her too. WM just finished so i will put that out 1st then re-load machine.

Need to strip DS1s bed. Did DS2's yesterday. Need to do DD's too. Will put them on later to hang out tomorrow (if stays sunny!)

EHM No idea TBH. Never bought anything like those. Maybe ask the rest of MN too?
jas Tooth seems ok today at the moment! Yes i know it will probaby hurt again later. it isn't bad enough yet to force me to get it looked at.
sagacious Well done on the weight loss.
TMH Good idea. I have been quite short tempered lately. Wil try harder not to be. Hope you wake up more soon. Enjoy the park.

EHM - if the one you have is good, I'd go with that. Cant beat personal experience when buying products for other people I think.

I remember our monitor had an alarm if it got too hot. We had a heat wave and didnt know how to turn the alarm off for about 3 months

No idea EHM- I think you may need a new thread for that one.
Not something I everfeltthe need for (but I'm not an anxious type, and my house is very small so I never even bought any trype of monitor.

So far I'm failing at the housework challenge, but I'm hoping having posted on the thread will shame me into getting moving this afternoon.

EHM Sounds like a good present. We didn't really do monitors either as have small bungalow.

Today i am getting in a muddle with laundry (as usual). Need to go to library after school, ? go to park or maybe just play in the garden.

I need to do hoovering (for some reason I hate housework even more in the summer).

Have sorted out magazine rack, actually it didn't have any magazines in! Paper work from court, instruction books for toys/bikes/DVD player etc.
Also cleared pile of little coffee table.

Have a pile of bits to put upstairs then in loft sometime.

Dd2 is asleep on sofa. Still coughing on and off and she keeps waking up and saying something then going back to sleep! last time she woke she cried and said she had missed lunch time lol!

Has anyone banned squash after letting them have it for years? I am concidering it! They all had watered down apple juice or water/milk yesterday but they weren't too impressed! I think we get through too much squash. Are they going to get used to it or dehydrate in this weather? I am doing fine on just water. Normally drink lots of squash. An there is a bottle of it in the cupboard unopened!

Report
scattyspice · 08/05/2008 12:57

I was toying with the idea of banning squash Tort. DD(3) drinks gallons of it then constantly needs a wee. Also I'm building up courage to take them to the dentist!

Mine do see a dentist but (and am very & about this) i found a hole in DD2's (age 3) back tooth. Feel terrible about it. They don't have many sweets etc though.

Report
FunkyGlassSlipper · 08/05/2008 13:27

tort - we dont have squash but dd1 loves apple juice. she knows when i water it down and wont drink it so I have just bought pressed apple juice and watered that down and she hasnt notice. We're on 80% AJ/20% water at the moment but I plan to make it 50/50. Other than that she drinks milk, milkshake and water.

Jas · 08/05/2008 13:29

I have a bottle of squash for emeergency use but try and give watered down fresh juice.
I don't actually think it is any better for their teeth, but doesn't have other sweeteners/additives.

Ds drinks mostly apple juice with 80%water added, the dds drink it 1/2 watered down and moan alot.
DD1 will drink iced water, but dd2 would rather go thirsty than drink water so I have to compromise.

I'm definitely going to try and get them drinking more water as it gets warm and they drink more.

Mine see the dentist and have had no problems so far, but my teeth are terrible and I'm a it paraniod about them having bad teeth.

My friends ds (age 5 ) has just had to have a tooth out, and apart from the fact that he is very young to be having to have one out, it cost her £200 to get it done privately. (The alternative was a 6-8 week wait for an NHS appointment, which you just can't do to a small child in pain.)

Sorry that was a bit of a long old rant.

I've only done my kitchen so far today.

I'll get off the computer and go and clean.....

Try giving them straws and fancy ice cubes to distract them from lack of sweeteners in their drinks

Report
tortoise · 08/05/2008 13:41

Thanks for your imput. Sounds like i will just have to go for it! They didn't really like the juice watered down but that is tough! lol!
It is the cost as well as teeth damage etc. 99p for 1 litre and it can go in one day if all home.
All this water is making me want to wee more though! tmi?
