how do you store BIG shoes?

The hall and cloakroom are out of control with everyone's shoes.

I have decided to buy some sort of shoe cupboard/rack BUT dh takes size 12 shoes. Therefore none will close, or if the rack is open dh's shoes would protrude over the edge.

Does anyone have a similar problem, and how have you dealt with it? There are hundreds of thousands of people with big feet, so why do Argos et al sell shoe racks that only accommodate up to size 8?

Thanks for any suggestions.

What we are going to get, at some point, is a Leksvik shoe bench partly to encourage people to sit down and take their shoes off when they come in the door, and partly as storage - it looks as if it will hold big shoes.

In our understairs cupboard we have the 6-tier version of this, opened right out - that holds masses - we have it turned the other way round and the big shoes do stick out but it doesn't matter.

Is this a showy off thread?

My husbands got huge feet .. 'nudge, nudge, , ... say no more! Say no more!'

oh, dh's feet are g&t as well. In fact I'll ask if we can have a 'Larger Feet' thread, because other people with just ordinary feet can't possibly understand the challenges.
