Hello to all and thank you to EHM for starting the thread. Sorry that I'm not around much. Having A (our au pair) here means that I'm having a push-on with sorting out the house esp the study which has lots and lots of papers waiting to be sorted. We're getting there! I do manage to read the thread now and again but don't have time to post or properly keep up with the goings-on in various FLYers' lives. I do think of you all, though!

Right. A is out for most of today and I'd love to make the most of it but I've got to stay in for 2 parcels to be delivered! Grrrr! See you later when I come back with a list of what I've achieved so far today.

Hi Simply, just jump in when you can

DD2 is grumpy and clingy at the moment. I think it is her teeth as she had 7 come through between halloween and christmas . Hopefully they are neearly completely through now.

DD1 is still not well so she isnt swimming today but she wants to go and watch her friends swim (probably so she can have the cookie afterwards. I have to drop her repeat urine sample into the Drs and then we are coming home and watching DVDs. I'm keeping her off pre-school this afternoon.

Tomorrow I am not working. I am taking DD2 to the childminders and keeping DD1 off pre-school again so we can have a 'duvet day'. I asked her what she wanted to do, go shopping? on a train? etc and she said she wanted to watch telly, cuddle and read books so that is what we're going to do. I'm looking forward to it actually.

Morning All

FGS I hope your DD2 is less grumpy and clingy for you today...teething is a mare isn't it. I hope also your DD1's urine sample is dealt with quickly and they can treat it quickly too.

Simply Hello I keep meaning to ask how your DD is. Hope all are well.

I am off to toddler group this morning too. Its just me and DD2! No DS! It will feel very strange I think without him there!

House was tidy yesterday, but overnight the junk fairies have been I have a load of crap to tidy/wash/vaccum/find a home for/throw away etc.etc. (fed up with it today )

Well I'll go and have a chat to some mums and then hopefully will feel a bit more motivated when I get home.

Hello to all.

FGS Thanks. I'm trying to tell myself not to overdo it with sorting the house out. I need to keep it steady esp as it's a lot of work settling in a new aupair (bank a/c, NI number, library card, getting to know the area etc etc) plus teaching her how we do things in the house and as a family.

luda Dd is fine, thanks. How are you getting on with your diary? Did you buy an OM one this year? I have the small one but don't like it any more than the larger one I bought last year so I don't think I'll buy from them again.

TMH Sorry, I missed the thread a few days ago but I hope things continue to improve.

BC I hope the interview went well. It must be stressful being the other side of the desk as well as being the interviewee, I guess.

This is my done list so far:-

~ loaded and unloaded d/w
~ put a load of washing on and then to dry/air
~ created a list of all the Christmas cards dh and I rec'd on the PC. I've left dh's pile for him to sort (for new addresses and stuff if he hasn't already) and then shred. The same for dd. Ds has already binned his which I shredded. I've shredded most of mine except for those I need to write to again or who've put new family history info on. I have a few new babies to add to the family history tree. For anyone wondering why I shred so much, we had a problem with someone using our cut-in-half-not-even-valid credit card once and that was so much work that we're even more cautious now.

Off to do some more. See you later!

Simply The diary is ok...I have the OM calendar, and the OM small diary. They seem to work quite well.

Well I have made Cheesy Leek and Potato Pie for supper.
DD2 is being a PITA! She has refused her cheese roll, scribbled orange wax crayon on the wall , persisted to play her peppa pig on the stairs, despite me telling her not to at least 4 times...and then slipped down the bottom three, which ended in big tears, and has now gone in another strop because I am on here and she wants me to put her picture on the wall. [sigh] I am going to see if she will have a nap I think.

Hello ALL Sleepycat - I had a similar start to the day as you! Glad to hear Flying is working for you. FGS - sounds like your DC are giving you a tough time. I like the sound of a duvet day - I think my DS (11) has given himself one today. He's supposed to be off school with a tummy bug but seems suspiciously well to me ...!! Luda - don't get down about the house. You do brilliantly most of the time and it sounds like you have a very full week.

My day's been OK apart from VERY demanding 3 year old DD..

Will do school pick-up shortly. Other things I want to do during the rest of the day:

  1. bathroom mission and mission in kids' rooms. It's walls as well that need cleaning!
  2. answer emails
  3. send birthday card to mum
  4. make two phone calls re. DS birthday
  5. clear under our bed
  6. sharpen pencils so kids can get on with drawing without disturbing me all the time!

Hello again

Got home from work about an hour ago. Interviews went well - we had to see three people, one was a definate no (quite barking!) the other two were pretty equal so we'll ring their referees and hope to make a decision inthe next couple of days.

Ds stayed at home with a grandparent - I put him to bed when I got home (my bed, with a story CD on) and he's now sound alseep. Dd needs collecting at 4 so I hope he wakes up before then...

I have done nothing else, just sat on the sofa in front of the telly/laptop

Must do something before I collect dd or the day will have gone.

See you all later x

Done my afternoon routines

Got Ed home, we played Honey Bee Tree (an ELC game based on kerplunk, the marbles are cute bees) then he starts ordering me about and I had to sort out the fire before I could turn it on. Ed decides that the Vac fittings for a £650 vac are toys, he won't put them down, I have to send him to bed for a time out. Much sulking and he decides to play on his PC instead.

So an unplayed with train layout. I've been ignored for 2 hours and I'm very fed up. I need some sunshine. I'm sure That would cheer me up (rather than this persisting rain)

Train set now has a level crossing and a signal box. Think I might play with it myself
