Shine your sink
Read today's reminders
Read personal reminders (paper or electronic)
Turn negative voices into nice ones

Ooh I do that anyway, so it's an easy day for me . I might start swish and swiping instead.

CindersNeedsHelp · 01/10/2007 21:30

I?ve been swishing and swiping for ages but didn?t know it!! It?s because DS tends to do a poo in the morning and I usually have to shower the worst bits off his nappy into a bucket over the bath, then tip it down the loo and give everything a quick wipe over afterward!

But getting organised enough to work out what I?m going to wear the next day is a real task for me!

So am I picking out tomorrow's clothes tonight....or Wednesday's clothes tomorrow?

My sink is beautifully shiny. I can't believe I've kept this up for a whole week. DH is getting more enthusiastic about it.....

....either that or he fears the slightly psychotic look in my eye whenever he turns a tap on

sorry...should have read Day 7 before I posted....just ignore me

Morning Guys.

I wasnt SHOUTING at anyone last night, I promise. I just think if you try and do things properly from the start then you'll get more out of it.

I shouldnt be on here anyway really so I'll go back to main fly thread and mind my own..

unknownrebelbang · 02/10/2007 08:54

We all have our own definition of doing it properly.

It's a valid point about rushing ahead, but I think we're all following the main principles, just working at our own pace, and for some of us that means doing stuff over the weekend, or making use of Mum or DH (and including children in the routines where possible - that's my ultimate aim).

Anyway, I've fallen at the first hurdle this morning cos I came on the computer after I'd used the exercise bike to check something out for DH...and I'm still here, lol.

picking out tomorrow's clothes is going to be a killer for me
morning all

I'm not sure where all this discussion about 'not doing it properly' and 'rushing ahead' has come from.

Myself and a few others last night were confused about the emails that some people are getting. People who are getting them weren't sure whether they were supposed to be doing anything with them, and I didn't know about the emails and therefore didn't know whether I should be getting them.

They were fairly simple questions I think, so I'm not sure what happened there.

Never mind.

Morning all, feeling crap this morning, have been up since 4.30. Marvellous...

Have done nothing at all except get dressed, fortunately sink is still shiny from last night, will go and do dishwasher now and read my stuff.

Me too Flowery - DS decided it was morning at 4:45am. Must be an age thing! He's back asleep now so I can get on with stuff (well I can mooch around on here anyway).

Flowery - you don't live in Cheshire too do you? That would be too weird.

Report
flowerybeanbag · 02/10/2007 09:52

no, Cambridgeshire.

I don't think I could handle that level of weirdness....!!!

morning

dressed to shoes with a bit of slap as well this morning before i came downstairs (cheated though as dh up with the DCs)

sink still shiny

reminders read

personal reminders read

negative thoughts (my house is a tip) shoved out of the way to make way for positve thoughts (I've made a big difference already and feel upbeat and energised)

about to tackle 2 min hotspot after I've finished feeding DD.

also....a load of washing is in.

I must have missed something last night. i didn't think anyone was shouting/making anyone else feel inadequate. For me i'm happy doing the baby steps in addition to the level of stuff i was doing before otherwise the house would've descended into total chaos within the week. I don't feel pressured by anyone doing more than me. I also didn't sign up to the flylady website and am happy not to get e-mails but follow cinders lead on here (smile)

mylastrolo, if you're lurking, come and talk to us please.

On a cheerier note....my DH has sugested I change my name to LazyBaggage. Charming

have read my stuff, washing on as well, getting there.

Report
SuperMonkey · 02/10/2007 12:27

OK:

Dressed to shoes check
Shiny sink check
Dishwasher unloaded check
Breakfast stuff put away check
Washing machine on check
2 minute hotspot check

Still to do:
Washing hung out
Swishing and swiping

But I have taken DS to feed the ducks so I think I get some brownie points for that instead.

mylastrolo, if you?re there, please be our friend! I should have put a grin on my comment about you rushing ahead. I know the idea is for everyone to take it at their own pace.

I don?t contact anyone other than on these threads, but it?s been really motivational for me to speak to other MNers in this way. The last thing I want to do is alienate anyone on here.

I?m really sorry if you (or anyone else for that matter) feel I am dictating routines. From now on I wont write up any routines, I?ll just put the daily links up. That way we can write our own routines to what suits us.

Tomorrow is about starting our own Control Journal anyway.

A week in and I've fallen off the wagon already! I am sitting practically on top of a hot spot at the moment - homework books, timetables, tax bills, my diary and a random paperback all lurk on the computer desk! Will have a go at it in a sec.

Am not sure about putting clothes out. Don't find it too difficult to pick up my jeans from the floor and a jumper out of the drawer in the morning.

And cinders, I do find your routines useful. Just helps me to be sure I haven't forgotten anything.

Report
flowerybeanbag · 02/10/2007 14:02

yes was going to say seeing other people's routines is useful, whether they are the same or not.

Mylastrolo it would be nice to see you back - I think there was a bit of a 'full moon' overreaction from a couple of people towards the end of yesterday's thread to what was essentially a couple of questions about some emails and you doing more than one hotspot .

Speaking for myself, I find it useful hearing what other people are doing, whether it is purely the baby steps or some extra bits. As long as I am clear, (and can find out when I'm not clear), what I need to be doing, then more than happy to see others doing well.

I can see why 3 people saying the same thing might seem like an attack! Forgive my prefectness.

Change of tack, do any of you remember the kiaora advert from the 80s? I've had in my head all day
