mince - probably shepherds' pie padded out with loads of veg so will hopefully make 2 or at least another half one

chicken - 4 breasts. Chicken Scooter I think

sausages - sausage pie

lentils - lentil and coconut soup with homemade bread (boys may have pasta on this day.....

THta is as far as I have got

The best tip I can give, cos I'm crap otherwise is:

Do roast chicken one day.

Next day, make stock and do risotto, either bacon or chicken. With the stock its lovely and very reasonable. For treat add a bit of creme fraiche towards end of cooking. Lush and kids do actually eat it!

We had chicken scooter last night ( kind of ). I roasted a sliced red pepper and onion with the tomatoes and chicken. Then I sliced the chicken breasts and added it to the creme fraiche sauce, and we had it with pasta. Was very yummy.

sounds good celeery

I am trying to find some quick meals I can do on the days that I work. I often freeze stuff and just reheat that but i quite like stick something easy in the oven and this sounds good.

I think I may also try a baked haddock with spicy sauce a friend of mine gave me 15 (omg 15) years ago. Not made it for 10 years and just re found the recipe. It is yummy and 'one pot'

We are having...
lentil dahl with rice
sausage casserole with mash
soup (may add lentils) with crusty bread
tuna noodle stir fry
fish chips and peas
homemade pizzas
brown pasta in creamy sauce

Got most of my teas planned from food I already had in, managed to get my weekly shop planned including nappies, fruit, bread, milk, veg, etc for £25!!

£25!!!

We are trying to get ours down to £75 and it's proving almost impossible.

DH is a bit of a foodie though. (If that's an excuse!)

I couldn't do it on £25 every week! I have been ruthless and bought very bare essentials only, using as much already bought food as I could, and luckily I didn't need wash powder and toiletries this week.

Usually only spend about £45 pound though, am very frugal.

chicken scooter sounds good
I spend an absolute fortune on food and house hold things each week, probably more than £160.00 isn't that awful. Don't even need to buy nappies..............terrible no wonder i am always skint

Don't know if I can be bothered with this on a Saturday night. Might revisit tomorrow or Monday.
