Cleaning laminate floors

Just moved into new house (hurrah!) but have laminate everywhere - not used to it and previous owners left no instructions - can you mop it as you would a normal tiled floor?

we use floor wipes from tesco and also use direct to floor cleaner. idea is to not let them get wet for too long! wouldnt recommend mopping like normal floor as can damage laminate.

we go around at night with a spray bottle with cleaner in and a falt head mop from asda!

You can mop it but use a wood floor cleaner like the new Cif one, brings it up nice and shiny and smelling lovely. BUT don't use a soaking mop, wring it out really well first and don't let water pool on the floor or it'll seep into the joins and they'll expand and ruin the floor.

I use one of these mops from Lakeland

It doesn't need cleaning, you can use it dry and it still shines the floors. We only have laminate upstairs, so I keep the mop next to my wardrobe and pull out and use when I have a spare five minutes.

I have to use a mop on mine (with Pledge soapy wood cleaner in the water) because the laminate wipes just don't seem to touch the grime on my laminate floors , and I don't like all those throw 'em away wipes you can buy.

I have mopping for about 5 years and apart from the very large scratches DS has recently added to them, the floors aren't looking too bad really. I usually have to go around with a dry mop afterwards to remove the excess water...unless it is an exceptionally hot and sunny day!

I use a microfibre mop(from lakeland but you can cheaper versions) run it under the tap wring out, clean floor, then use 2nd mop head to do a 2nd clean, then you bung the mop heads into the washing machine. It's our dining room so it gets filthy.

I also have a vileda rapidattractive mop thing for quick clean ups (essential for DS' regular milk/juice spillages)
