Ho, ho, ho - welcome to the December Flylady thread. We'll be following the Flylady method and enforcing order on our houses. Feel free to join in. The monthly focus for December is pampering Xmas Grin

I'll be posting links to the daily missions, daily focus and the zone cleaning - don't worry about the detailed zone cleaning if you haven't already decluttered, Flylady recommends decluttering first.

You can probably already tell my personal level of dedication to the internet, not the house as I've looked up the Christmas smileys specially. No washing up was done in the making of this post.

I'll post the first December links tonight!

Pampering? Does brushing my hair count?!

All I seem to brush is crumbs off the floor ...

Place marking!

Hello!

Thank you for this thread and thank you again for stepping in last month too. Thanks Star

This month sees a whole lot of stress. We have the landlords coming in 10 days but we have barely any time before that as we are away for a couple of days.

And it's my birthday before too - for the first time in TEN years I have arranged a party of sorts. It's a milestone though and for once I have lots of friends to enjoy it with. Yay!

And just found out DD has got an appointment at the Child Development Centre to discuss autism. Amazed it's come through so quickly.

Posted all this on old thread then realised we have a shiny new one! Thanks very much Cotswold.

Cag, how exciting re. party Smile

DD2 is a threenager. She has particularly strong views about clothes! She also poos in her pants constantly so I have loads of laundry all the time Sad.

Ta das:-
Presentation done Smile
Exercise DVD

To do:-
Get DD2 to go to sleep
Laundry
Dishwasher
Birthday card
Get bits together for costume for DD2's nativity
Book extra shift
Reply to party invite
Before bed routine
Remind DH about doing drop off tomorrow as I have to be in early
Go to shop as we have no bread -I constantly end up having to do this type of thing -has anyone got any tips as to how to not run out of food all the time?
Text childminder

start Xmas shopping list.

I definitely need a pampering habit! Think I am going to start by decluttering my underwear drawer - some of my stuff has holes in it Blush. I hardly have any nice underwear and hardly ever wear what I have.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 30/11/2016 20:02

Just emailed childminder - I've double booked for Xmas hols and now overpaid by more than £50! Completely my error and because I've not realised in time I can't even ask for a refund - will have to see what she says. Sometimes I think there is no hope for my lack of organisation Sad.

I'm going to join you for December, wanting to move house asap and have boxes in the garage that have moved with me four times in four years and still haven't been unpacked!!! Determined not to pay to move them yet again!! However, can't seem to keep on top of the house never mind move onto decluttering. Going to start with the baby steps tomorrow Smile xx

QwertyKeyboard · 30/11/2016 21:45

I am going to join for December if that is ok. Are we doing the Xmas prep thing as well? Or am I already behind?

Report
Dreamingoutloud7 · 30/11/2016 22:01

I'll join in too if that's ok. I followed flylady a few years ago and my house always looked amazing so excited to get back into it again!

Welcome to everyone. We will be welcoming newbies at any time on this thread up to, ooh, New Year's Eve! It's still November so replying on the other thread is still fine, I'll be heading there shortly to issue reminders.

You sound very busy Cag, party is something to look forward to though!

Christmas missions - we have had some during November and there are a few Super Cruise missions during December that don't seem to be as frequent as the others - you can see all the missions from this page www.flylady.net/d/cruising-through-the-holidays/
scroll down to the second row of candles and click on holiday cruising missions.

Will post the links now, see y'all tomorrow.

Thanks for the new thread and the links. It's been an odd day where it's felt like swimming through treacle to get anything done. I'm quite glad of the new month tomorrow although it means I can't avoid the dreaded c word planning any longer.

Oh hello! I have only just realised we've moved doh! Thanks for the new thread / links / November thread!

Newchick · 01/12/2016 07:02

Ok it's 1 Dec and I've decided to do 30 days of decluttering for 15 minutes every day (except Christmas Day - I'm not that unrealistic.) I am ignoring zones for now and starting in the kitchen as that's the 'worst' open-to-the-public room and we are hosting Christmas.

So have just done top of fridge which was somewhat of an archeological dig Blush Here are some of the things I found:

The instruction book for our 'new' oven (installed Feb 2015) on top of: A box of Christmas decorations
on top of:
An empty box of Ferrerro Roccher on top of:
An optician's receipt from November 2014 and a note in my daughter's primary school handwriting saying
"Do not eat any of these Party Rings without asking me. Daddy, THIS MEANS YOU!!"

Ok off into my day now... good luck with the C-word madness everyone and let's stay as sane as we can manage yes?!

Morning all! Freezing fog here this morning - it's so overcast it is barely light - could hardly see the furry at the end of his lead when out walking this morning!

Ta for links Cotswold!

Lovely to see the old regulars flying back in! Smile [Waves to Blue and Whoknows!]

Poor you with the boiler situation dragging on Whoknows - it's so cold atm - hope it is resolved very soon.

Arf at >"Daddy this means you!" Newchick that is hilarious! Smile Well done for tackling top of fridge of doom. I have the very same task ahead of me today. Will report back!

Don't worry Foxes we usually post on both threads during the transition - up until the first of the new month!

Purpledaisies hope today goes better for you but well done for ploughing on through yesterday.

To do:
Tidy up entire house

Confused

Have a good day everyone!

Xmas Grin at the party rings note. They are nice, though.

Just trying to gee myself up for the day by eating a nice breakfast in a chair looking out over the frosty garden before going shopping/posting/texting and then housework (which must include ironing) later on. It's very cold.

I've got a Yankee Candle tealight advent calendar this year, so will burn that later - I think I'll have to guess what each one is as they are not labelled serves me right for buying the bargain Tesco version but the first one is lovely anyway. Possibly winter morning. I hope my enthusiasm and energy burns for as long as the tealight no chance and that it counts as a pamper thing too. Really should file my nails down and varnish.

Will stop rambling and get on - back later!

Love the party rings note

I have a confession to make

Yesterday I was meant to oven pride the oven

I did not do it Blush

hangs head in shame

Report
foxessocks · 01/12/2016 15:41

afresh I have been meaning to oven pride my oven for the best part of a year...every now and then I get the box out and put it next to the oven to remind me but inevitably it gets put away again. I really must do it.

Ta das
Dishwasher emptied and loaded
Room rescue upstairs bedrooms
Washing put away
Washing on
Washing up
Rubbish out
Biscuits made (total disaster but dd enjoyed it anyway! I also had a Yorkshire pudding disaster last night so I think I'm losing my touch!)

I've had a bit of a feeling unmotivated day today. And dh is going to be late home again so have given up and put TV on for dd as I can't do any more toddler entertaining! We did have a lovely time at toddler group this morning , they made Christmas pictures and there is glitter everywhere now!

I have officially done nothing today apart from declutter the sky box sets...
That's not quite true. I'm now at the vets waiting for the poorly guinea pig to have bloods taken. She seems much better so I'm quietly hopeful she's going to be ok (at least in the short term). I had chronic fatigue a little while ago and it feels like a bit of a relapse after my horrible cold and holiday. Not overdoing things is the way to a faster recovery but I still have things that need to be done.

The plan for this evening is to finally catch up on list making and get my head around what actually needs doing around the house and what can wait until I can get dh to do it or I'm feeling better. This is rotten-after feeling basically back to normal it seems like such a set back.
