My house/Zoflora

1000 replies

TheLionQueen · 20/10/2016 11:28

Posting here for traffic.
My house is a bit horrid. I have pets and a messy DH (who does get on board when I have a proper 'spruce' but doesn't notice the daily grime). I can keep on top of genuine rubbish but clutter builds easily. I know nobody can sort this out for me and I am working on it.
What bothers me most is smell. Although it's clean ish, it doesn't smell fresh. I do open windows for a bit every day.
I bought some miracle potion Zoflora yesterday and already mop the floors with it. I want to know what I can do with it as almost like a reed diffuser/air freshener?
I don't put the heating on much (have a log burner) so don't think putting it on radiators would work. I do hoover relatively regularly so can try the cotton wool trick. Anything else I could try? Is it really safe to spray on curtains? Any other tips for a pet household for smell? Thanks in advance!

Try putting it on the vacuum filters

My favourite subject

Use it in the washing machine to wash the pet bedding in

Water in down and use it in a reed diffuser (you can get them from pound land)

I use it watered down in a spray bottle on fabrics and curtains

Use it as a carpet freshener after vacuuming (Make sure it's dry before letting pets on it)

Use it to clean bathroom either watered down or neat with a cloth

Also instead of the cotton wool thing, you can get scented drier sheets, put them on the radiator then when they are warm the scent comes out

I also use the steam function on my iron and scented ironing water on cushions and sofas

I know savers sell it so I'll get some next time I'm in there

The dryer sheets thing is good for storing washed clothes- so if you fold up your washing and they go in a cupboard, slip some drier sheets in between a few of the clothes to keep them fresh

Wash banisters/ door frames/ skirting boards with zoflora for long lasting scents

Linen it is

I don't like lavender so I wouldn't touch that with a barge pole

If you don't want to use zoflora on your fabrics as its a disinfectant then use scented ironing water, it keeps things fresh! And it's cheap, £1 for a litre

Can you tell I'm nesting?!

Ooh replies! Maybe I'm not a ninja after all!
Thanks all for brill ideas. I've got an old reed diffuser that's run out of liquid so I'll slosh some in there.
It won't dye my fabrics/carpet bleach style will it?!
Bathroom is only room that is semi decent but I'll use it in there when the flash runs out.
The pets don't have washable bedding iyswim- think things in cages/tanks..
The linen fresh is genuinely lovely. I bought bouquet too and can't quite make up my mind about it..
I'm going to wash my vac filter today so will pop a few drops on!

That's a brill idea with the dryer sheets in with clothes. DH cupboard is Def a little musty so I'm going to try this!
No little ones around and it's my curtains that are a bit foisty. They're dark so was worried about spray marks if it was bleachy?

No it won't bleach, but just dilute it with water in a spray bottle and it works just like febreze

It will be safe to use for cages and such just make sure it's dry before the animals go back in the cages

The diffuser thing is brilliant

It's disinfectant so no worries about it bleaching things, I spray it on my navy curtains and it's fine 🙂

Zoflora is also really good used diluted on dirty Windows, makes them nice and shiny. Also makes pots and pans shiny once you have cleaned them

I don't work for them I swear!!!

I might have found my tribe Grin

I was so relieved when my Milton fluid addiction gave way to ZoFlo. Much nicer smell and very nostalgic.

I haven't heard of some of these ideas though.

I didn't like Linen weirdly. I have Hyacincth at the moment and it's fairly pleasant.

We have an air filter unit. It has a filter cartridge and runs on small amounts of electricity. You change the cartridge every six months or so. You can move it from room to room and they come in different sizes.

We also have two aromatherapy diffusers. You add a couple of drops of your favourite oil to some water and pour into the diffuser. The diffuser humidifies the air and you can smell the oils and they have a freshening effect. The citrus ones are good for this. Also, tea tree oil.

We open the windows quite a bit and I clean with a bit of bleach as I don't like artificial scents.

Thank you for this thread! I'd heard of zoflora and home bargains has smaller bottles for 59p so I have bought a selection of scents. Grin off to wipe my radiators.

I use Zoflora on Everything.

For everything.

Am a bit of a clean freak anyway so this stuff is right up my street!!

Have just changed my beds and sprayed Zoflora around the rooms too...

Love all the flavours, sorry scents, as well......

I clean outside of loo with it and neat , on bathroom floors but do love bleach too. Inside of loos definitely use bleach as well.

Have at least one window open all the time to circulate air around.
