Does anyone use a cleaner?

I'm struggling to cope with the pressure of juggling work, the kids and housework and am thinking about getting a cleaner.

Not really sure where to start and wondered if anyone had any tips? How did you find someone? How much does it cost? How many hours do they do? Have you had any problems that sort of thing.

I've had several. Had a few agency ones who were quite honestly over priced. I asked on my local fb page for recommendations and now have someone who's self employed. She charges £10 an hour and she's amazing. I've only got a one bed place so 2 hours a week is plenty.

I asked around at my work. I also pay £10 an hour for three hours a week. It is absolutely fantastic as I know the house has had a good thorough clean and all I have to do is keep on top of it in-between.

Had a cleaner since 1984. Seven to be exact. Mostly word of mouth. Presently agency. Agency works well too.

Clear expectations. Never had any problems.

You need a recommendation. I pay £10 per hour for 4 hours, and she also irons the shirts in that time. She is also amazing.Smile

£30 a week, cleans 3 bed house to hotel standards :) rang a load of people from every source I could find- fb, agency, Google etc and this company stood out on the phone- business like, clear, arranged a meeting to see property and assess needs. Owner and wife clean house themselves first months to check cleaning schedule is practical/OK, then handover to their team. Standard has stayed impeccable, am a very happy bunny.
