hi - im renting a house and this year the damp is coming through the wall of our bedroom from outside and causing loads of mold and mildew across the walls (covered in textured paper), the ceiling and the uPVC windows too. Theres also some on the carpets too.

Whats the best way to clean these different surfaces? Need to get it clean asap as i have a baby coming any day now and husband is severly asthmatic and its been worse lately and until last night didn't know why.

This is just what I dont need right now! Any advice would be excellent thank!!!

Lots of decent mould remover sprays but I wouldn't use them while pregnant, get someone else to do it. Also get your landlord to fix the cause of the damp or it will just keep coming back. They have a responsibility to keep the house wind and water tight.

yes i agree with the above poster, get the landlord to get it fixed. Alternatively for a quick fix you can use this mould cleaner to clean the damp mould up.

i second the hg mould cleaner. sounds just like my old flat.

it does say it cant be used on some surfaces but if u do test patches it will probably be fine.

dont use it on the carpet because it smells like it contains bleach.

and report to landlord. if they arent doing anything about it you can report them to the council i think i was told when we were in that situation.

our new place has mould and damp too so f-ing annoying.
