What plants do you have in your house?

I'd like some more green and growing things in my house and looking for inspiration.

Currently have an aloe vera plant in our bedroom, DC have some rather neglected spider plants in their rooms, oh and we have an orchid on the kitchen window sill.

What plants do you have and would you recommend? Thanks Smile

I have two indoor plants, but i have no idea what they are. I'm sure if you go to a garden nursury and ask someone there they can assist better than me. One of my plants is probably about ten years old now from before i even met dh and had ds. Its survived housemates, pets, children, house moves and me sometimes forgetting to water it

I have a string of pearl plant which I LOVE. it's so unusual. I'd like some big large funky succulents but I have a 1 yo with a passion for soil so will have to wait a bit longer.

Yes Celeste , being able to tolerate neglect is probably a key feature here too Blush

I like the idea of succulents, have seen some nice ideas on Pinterest...

Thanks all Smile

I like the look of the peace lily, HoneyDragon, plus I can tell DH it's an homage to Simon Pegg in Hot Fuzz...

An orchid, a Boston Fern, lots of cacti and succulents, a money plant, spider plants, a variety of herbs on the kitchen window sill and one that I'm not sure what it is! All of them are very easy to look after. I love having plants around the house it makes a big difference somehow.

I love the look of the string of pearls plant. I'm going to look out for one of those.

Spider plants, Devils ivy, dracanea, fern/palm things from IKEA, ivy and am trying a castor oil plant indoors as they apparently don't mind the shade/limited light

I love plants! I have various succulents throughout the house, a string of hearts/rosary vine, several orchids (they each flower at different times of the year, so I always have one in bloom), a Chinese money plant (Pilea peperomioides) and an Alocasia in my south facing living room; a jade plant on the landing, and in the kitchen a basil plant, a monstera, an umbrella plant and a ficus lyrata tree. They're all easy to care for and most of them came from Homebase or Ikea.

I have a peace lily and some ivy together in a large round, but fairly shallow white ceramic dish. Sooooo easy to look after. I just water it twice a week. It lives in the kitchen. Ive had it years.

I also have a red anthurium here in the loo. Again, easy to keep, I water it once a week and it is in a sunny spot. Wipe the leaves now and again as they get dusty so they don't look as glossy as they should.

I recommend a Chinese money plant. Mine is a large one as I've had it for years. It has not brought me super luck with money, but does bring me joy! The pot it's in is lovely.

I give it a shower every time the season changes to dust it, but other than that I only water it when it's bone dry. Perfect for a busy person.

I read that plants are good for cleansing the air. Peace lilies, spider plants and ivy especially.

Do you have cats? If so, try and avoid leaving anything where they can chew at it, because some houseplants can be toxic if eaten.

cactus! Nice and easy, I've had mine for around 6 years, hardly ever water it and its currently got a flower on it!
