Improving soft fluffy towels

Last year I bought a set of lovely soft fluffy towels but despite being washed several times they are not very good at actually drying. Is there anything I can do to them to improve their drying quality? Grateful for any suggestions.

Are you using fabric conditioner? If so, don't - this stops absorption.

Tumble dry them.

Thanks for replies. smile
No I don't use fabric conditioner for towels and I have tumble dried them a couple of times. Oh well, I 'll just have to hope they will improve with time!

Have you tried washing them with bicarb soda and white vinegar instead of fabric conditioner? I've just bought some new towels so haven't had to try it yet but I've heard it works!

Wash with an eco egg , half dry outside and finish off in dryer , my towels are soft and absorbant and this is what i do

Stick the fluffy towels in the wash again but this time put one of these in there with them, this will help with the drying quality.
