Cleaning High Visibility Clothing

I have a high viz jacket with reflective strips. The washing instructions tell me I can't use optical brightening agents because this will damage it.

Does anybody know a good washing power, that doesn't have optical brighteners in, which is also cheap?

I just wash OH stuff as normal, 15 years, no probs !!
