boring question about duvet sizes and duvet cover sizes.

I have a king size bed.

Superking size duvet, yet the superking size covers leave spare material at sides and big me, so I buy king size covers for it.

Is this the norm or is my duvet maybe abit short or the standard size?

I'm upgrading to emperor bed, got the same quilt, just wondering if I should buy emperor covers or go for superking size.

Sorry feel free to tell me bore off!

I have come to the conclusion noone really understands duvet sizes in the UK. Habitat double duvet cases are too big like you describe. My John Lewis double duvet has its size and dimensions on the tag. But if you measure it it's something else.

The duvet and covers should have the measurements on them so why don't you check and see which size matches best?

I agree with your situation, we have an Aust. King, which is the same as UK Super King but the cover we have is a bit wide (IIRC), I couldn't get one which was exactly right (215X215).

Superking bedding sizes are made for hotels & B&b's - not usually for home use.
So if you're looking for bed linens or filled bedding then best not go look at retail shops but try & look for hotel bedding/linens suppliers.

I know Hilden Linens are a hotel supplier & their quality & price is amazing.

Also King of cotton are a pretty good hotel supplier in terms of price however their quality isn't the best.

Libbylit - I'd be really grateful for your advice - I'd love to buy an Emperor feather duvet but all the prices I've seem up until now are extortionate. Your tip to try a hotel supplier is really interesting though. Based on your advice - I'm afraid Hildens don't sell that size but King of Cotton do and I can't believe how good their price is - am tempted to order but you mentioned their quality isn't the best. Do you think I could go far wrong with a feather duvet from them? Really grateful if you could advise
