Electronic housekeeping! Who's with me?

CrumpetsAndGin · 26/03/2016 12:49

Since this afternoon is wet and horrible and I'm shattered from a busy week, I'm going to try and get on top of my 'electronic' housekeeping tasks.

To do list is:

  • 2x personal email accounts to tidy

-1x work email account to tidy
  • 1x website comments to moderate likely to be in the thousands of spam so may well not finish
  • 1x laptop worth of documents to sort

Anyone up for keeping me company?

Aw, I thought you were going to talk about robotic vacuum cleaners, floor polishers and lawn mowers! I don't have any but it's a nice pipe dream.

I just generally leave my email accounts in chronological order - I don't get that many, although I do like zapping spam!

You are clearly wiser than I in who you give your email addresses to capsium! One email account down...

And yes, robot vacuum cleaner does sound good but would probably eat all the lego and small toys my DC are incapable of tidying up

Good warning though, poor robot, choking on all that Lego! All it needs to eat is dust and crumbs, anything else makes it poorly. Grin

I thought you had found a magical way to avoid housekeeping then op, I couldn't click fast enough.

I do like doing the 'sweep' thing on emails, my phone won't let me do it though, need to log onto laptop and don't have time due to hoovering and mopping etc today, really need an electronic housekeeper.

I'm feeling guilty that my thread title is leading to disappointment!

Trawling through my work emails... so much rubbish...

I need to finish my website (which won't get done today but I'm aiming to do a bit!)
Order new business cards off vista print
Defrag computer
Tidy up desktop
Sort folders

Spam is a killer, I wish there was an electronic way of cleaning up. When I was younger I played on Sims and you could get them a robot that would do all the cooking, cleaning etc and would also look after the baby!

I could really do with that robot! or a wife. but I think thats too politically incorrect to say on MN

2 hours of electronic housekeeping done, one personal email account sorted, the work one sorted and a laptop of documents sorted.

The other personal email account can wait and as for the comments moderating - pah, its Saturday....

I took the plunge and got a robot hoover the last time we needed a new one. Have't had to hoover anything but the car in a year. When I get in I turn out the dishwasher, washing machine and hoover. Then I have a cup of tea. I would love to turn on more gadgets for electronic housekeeping eyes up floor-mopping and lawn-mowing robots

Cheap robot vacs have such small openings they don't pick up Lego. But it is a great moivaion to DC who are usually fascinated. 'Well the robot hoover can go in your room if it's tidy enough!'
