"Dry flat" - how?

I'm just washing one of my tops that is hand wash only, no tumble dryer, and says to "dry flat." How on earth am I supposed to do that? I usually just drape it over a warm radiator and move it around occasionally so it doesn't get pulled out of shape, but am wondering if I am missing a really obvious solution.

I hang tops like that spread out over several rungs of an airer, so there's not much stress on any single area of fabric. It's just about support, I think.

my airer has a top rack (a bit like an oven shelf) with lots of bars across. flat across all the bars works.

I lay things like that out on top of a folded bath towel, on an airer.

If you have a bath, lay the folded airer flat over the bath, then place folded towels on top and clothes on the towels.

I dry it on the lid of the simmering plate on the AGA <helpful> grin

Ok looks like an airer is the answer then. I only use mine in summer so kind of forgot I even had one! Thanks all.
