another mice thread

Ihave spent the evening watching the mice run backwards and forwards to the poison. From time to time I have also moved the trap to different points on their run but they just keep swerving round or jumping over it. What is the best thing to do. My house is the end one of a short terrace and there are no points of entry through the walls so they may be coming in through the roof space. The next door neighbours moved out in Christmas week. Help

The poison must be working as when I came in today I found a dying mouse huddled under the sideboard which didn't attempt to run away when I swept it up.
