In our kitchen. .. We've caught 4 (in 2 days) and had none for nearly two weeks. I'm still horrified and paranoid even though we've

Cleaned and bleached every single thing in the kitchen

Blocked the hole they came in through

Blocked every other hole we can find

Bought loads of tupperware, big plastic boxes etc and put everything into them in the cupboards

Put food away immediately

Is there anything else we can do? The kitchen is very old and battered - think done in the 60s and we won't be able to do the extension and refit for at least a year and a half :-(

You've done everything right so far!
Just check outside to sees if there's any large plants/ anything else they're hanging around in.
Sympathies - it's a nasty feeling isn't it. (Roaches for us, abroad)
Ingrains good hygiene into the children though! ;-)

if you or your neighbours have a rat table bird table with delicious and nutritious rat food bird food, it will attract them.

If the holes are blocked, you'll be fine! I work in housing and pests tend to come from small holes around pipe work (stuff with wire wool) or gaps behind kitchen units/under kick boards. Makes sure the back of the kitchen cupboards are boarded up completely - even if the gaps are high up.
