What type of carpet do we need?

Long story short, an engineer ruined our bedroom carpet so the company are paying for a new one. Going shopping this weekend but last time we got carpet I was totally overwhelmed with the choice. Our bedroom is a large room in a loft conversion, 1930s detached house. Walls are white.

Any ideas as to colour, type, texture please?

Did you like what was there before? If so just go for something similar.

We bought an ex rental house and I def don't like the cheap carpet that is in there. I meant more that I don't understand all the different types, materials etc and wondered what was best for a bedroom.

We've got wool in our bedroom as it's nice and soft. You will need nice, thick underlay. I would pick a neutral colour you like, generally, if it's light colour the room will look bigger. Make sure you feel the texture and if you're super confident, take your shoes off and walk on the sample!!!
