Storage for family of five

We are drowning in stuff, 3dcs and both work full time. Can't afford cleaner (and can't find floor/surfaces to clean). We need serious storage, 3 kids art stuff/toys/school stuff, 5 peoples shoes/coats/bags etc etc, so HOW? Have not much money (>£300), can it be done, if so where from?

Decluttering would make such a difference I have an attack of the vapours, so tend to just pile stuff up and cover in blankets, and when gets really bad take day off work to blitz, but as nothing has its place it creeps back again

Help pleaseHmm

Ikea expedit (it's now called kallax I think) with drona boxes in some spaces. The wide billy bookcases with samla boxes on. Fangst for cuddly toys. Underbed boxes. Put extra shelves up in unused spaces (eg high up and above doorways) for less used items.

Honestly I would be loathe to spend 300 pounds in IKEA ...just because to me that's LOTS and because I think if you are inventive you could probably create / make or source second hand stuff .

Used ikea stuff can be dirt cheap ...as is amazing quality Gplan stuff in second hand shops .

There's a great website ...for ideas . I will try to send u some links

Hi cod I'm slowly but surely sorting my house out. Not as many people as you but we can easily create a lot of mess!

I started by looking at a room and seeing how we use it. We are disorganised, naturally messy people so, for example, in the living room I have an ikea type expedit system with loads of baskets filled up with shit. Every so often I go through it and it deceptively makes the area look tidy.

I also have pretty bowls, dishes dotted around for any bits emptied out of pockets - that is a bug bear of mine!

We have a narrow shoe cabinet in our hallway, a coat hook which I go through every so often. It is only me that would put away winter coats in the summer! Above this I have a shelf with more baskets that hold hats scarves etc.

I can't speak more highly of shelves and baskets!

Like everyone has said, take a look in ikea and also lakeland have some nifty things. Take a look on pinterest too they have interesting ideas on there.
