Pee stained rug help!

My dog peed on the rug last summer after I had washed it and left in the sun to dry. The sun dried the wee in and I couldn't get it out.

Had a look online and saw that hydrogen peroxide can help get rid of dog wee. I tried it and it didn't work, also it ruined our wooden floor... Duh why didn't I think to move the rug?!

Anyway, it has never looked great since (a kind of yellow tinge persisted) so I tried cleaning it with a steam carpet cleaner the other day and the stain has really darkened and looks awful.

Any ideas or d I need to call it a day and chuck the rug?

Wash in a washing machine using Biological washing liquid. Follow with lots of fabric conditioner. It worked for my rug smelling of cat wee!

Sadly it won't fit! It's a pretty big rug. Might try that on a smaller one we have though.
