Beds - Ottoman vs Storage Draws

Hi... Advices Please. Does anyone have any experience of the under bed storage dilemma ? I'm weighing up the pros and cons of ottoman vs drawer storage under beds. Ottoman are more expensive. I'm not short of space either side of the bed but ottoman seems to offer 40% more storage space for the same footprint. But will the mattress rattle on the base/frame after time ? How long will the gas pistons last with a 50kg mattress? Are under bed draws a simpler solution.

All experiences most welcome.

The drawers are quite handy for out-of-season bedding, but like any storage, however much you have, you will fill it with junk

P.s

I reckon drawers will be simpler.

We went for an ottoman to make it easier to clean under the bed but I think I got more stuff in the drawers and we end up just dumping things on top of the ottoman and it looks untidy. The cat likes sleeping on it though!

I have an ottoman bed and love it. It's easy to lift, loads fits in, when it's closed you can't tell it's an ottoman bed. It stores masses. And if you want things organised just use under bed storage boxes in there too. Doesn't get dusty, everything's accessible. I love mine!

Definitely go for ottaman. It is a worthwhile investment.

I have two ottoman beds and they hold loads, much more than a divan base with drawers would. My beds are roughly 5/6 years old and in great shape, no problems at all.

I have an ottoman bed and love it! So much more storage than the four drawers I had in my old bed. Plus I have bedside cabinets on both sides, which meant I had to move them back first to open the drawers nearest the head of the bed, which was annoying.
The only thing I wish I had ordered with the ottoman bed though is castors. Ours is just on feet and now the bed is full of junk I can't move it easily to vacuum the carpet underneath. This obv wouldn't be a problem if you have wooden floors, as a duster thing would clean well enough under there.
Ours was from an online made to order company, which were expensive but worth it as it was v high quality and they assembled it for us.

I have an ottoman bed and flippin love it! Very robust and so much more room (ehem..... maybe for more shoes?!) If you can spare the little extra money to start with it will pay off in long run. This is my bed - www.landofbeds.co.uk/kaydian/ottoman-beds/walkworth-slate/double Smile

We have an ottoman bed from Loaf, we've only had it a month, but it's great so far. I can open it myself- and I'm quite pregnant and feeble about lifting at the mo, but DS at just 3 certainly can't. There is TONS of room under there- it's our loft! A dismantled cot fits in one side, plus several vac bags, and a load of crap in boxes on the other side. it's ace.
No rattle or anything either, it's very comfy. It's slightly tall as beds go, but that just makes it easier to get up out of in my current heavy state, so all good. DS needs a box to clamber in but can nearly make it solo.
