How to revive tired worktops and make them shiney again

Moved into our new house. In the kitchen the worktops are glossy black with a grey design. The ones around the sink and hob are dull and tired looking.
Is there anything that makes them sparkle again?

I don't know, you need to ask pigletJohn, she is font of all household knowledgeGrin

Have you tried furniture polish in an inconspicuous area?

I don't think anything will last for long.

You could buy a small trigger-spray of Armorall from a place that sells things for cleaning cars. it makes old plastic and rubber shine. You will have to reapply when it wears away or is cleaned off.

Rather than spray it on, squirt a bit on a small cotton rag and wipe it on. Leave it wet to soak in and polish off the next day. If it is patchy, apply again.

clean the surface well first.
