HI GUYS

Delighted to see so much interest .

It's a good schedule

It starts small .

I did my utensil drawers yesterday

They are now so functional and easy to use .

It's also had the effect of making me really THINK about purchases , my buying habits and what comes into the house .

If anyone needs inspiration just look at links above or see my FAVOURITE simple living site

I'm in, on hols at the moment <looks around at almost empty holiday cottage and wishes it was like this at home> back home sat, wash, wash, wash Sunday . DCs back st school Monday so will start then [hopeful emoticon]

With you on the Jesus type American sites I was looking for a cleaning routine to help with chaos at home and the one I liked included time to pray and read scriptures confused

This looks good though smile

That blog looks great. Will read more when I have time later.

But I am not approaching this in the right spirit, because I clicked straight into the post about the brightly coloured china and thought "Ooh, that's lovely, I'd like to buy some of that." blush

I'm in.

My decluttering is a permanent on-going project - albeit slowly grin

"Lover of Jesus. Wife of Ryan" smile. I am going to try the throw out 10 things every day. I had just sorted out my underwear drawer before I saw this and chucked all the old knickers and socks.

spiderbabymum Wed 29-May-13 10:16:53

LOL at lover of Jesus .

The smallnotebook one is a lot better .........

Some good tips on there - like the one about just closing the door on a disorderly cupboard and tackling when have time.

I've been de-cluttering for almost a year now so may actually struggle to throw away ten items per day. Mine is largely 'unseen' clutter - under bed, neatly in boxes and in cupboards (but clutter none-the-less). Will try five per day and see how that goes... Or is that a bit defeatist?

MyPreciousRing Wed 29-May-13 11:33:54

Erm, actually isn't that hard if you count every small item. So after my moaning that can't possibly do ten per day... Just done it!

Take-away menus, some old shoe polish and bits of crap in porch cupboard. Job done grin

happyAvocado Wed 29-May-13 12:02:57

I think when it comes to CD's it will be 100 a day for several days... smile

I also agree that this is the bottom line:

1. Purge – remove the things that don’t belong.

2. Order – sort and arrange what you have in a useful way.

3. Maintain – pick up after yourself, repeat 1 & 2 as needed.

4. Know when to stop

That's ace Avacado. Concise advice. Thank you.

Im just in day two .....know it sounds ridiculous but already I see the benefits

One is certainally that im naturally inclined to MAINTAIN
The areas I've already completed

Some suggestions ...mainly take from previous attempt at Flylady

Start small

If you are joining us for the 40 day declutter STICK TO THE PROGRAM

Aim for Five days a week

And I would suggest to Aim to release yourself from the ten items per day FROM the area you dealt with in that days task . it if not then pick up other items from around the house as your normal day unfolds.

IF adapting it to suit yourself CHOOSE GOALS THAT are achievable ........goes without saying really ....but the tendancy is always to go too fast and bit of more than you can chew

GOOD LUCK

....

This morning I have cleared the floor area of my understairs cupboard. Not the shelves - just the floor smile
at least 10 things thrown out.

MyPreciousRing Wed 29-May-13 16:23:16

Just thrown away a clock and put three pictures, a cushion and a lightshade in car for charity shop... That's me on 16 for today! (Think I'm maybe getting this a bit wrong.)

FullOfChoc Wed 29-May-13 20:03:49

OK, I've printed it out and I'm going to try...

spiderbabymum Wed 29-May-13 20:06:49
